’90 Day Fiancé’: Michael Jessen Shares Steamy Photo With Juliana Custodio, Claps Back at Critics
Michael Jessen, a 42-year-old wine entrepreneur and divorced dad of two from Connecticut, married 23-year-old Brazilian model Juliana Custodio on the seventh season of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé. Michael and Juliana are still happily married and are currently quarantined together in the U.S.
Recently, Michael has shared several throwback photos, looking back at the beginnings of his relationship with Juliana—whom he met at a yacht party in Croatia several years ago. The 90 Day Fiancé star recently shared a romantic Instagram post, under which he answered a few questions from fans and fielded a critique or two as well.
Michael shared a throwback travel snapshot with Juliana
In May 2020, Michael took to Instagram to share a steamy photo of himself with Juliana from their early dating days. The 90 Day Fiancé star shared that the photo, in which Michael donned sunglasses on the beach while Juliana cast a sultry glance over her bare shoulders, was taken in 2017 during a trip to Spain.
“Warmer weather is finally settling in,” Michael wrote in the Instagram caption. “We are looking forward to the summer months, but I need to keep hitting the gym hard to get back to this shape when @julianacustodiooo and I were in southern Spain together in late summer 2017.”
Juliana, who loves heading to social media to share how much she adores her husband, commented sweetly, “Love you so much ❤️.”
90 Day Fiancé fans immediately began to comment on how cute the couple was together. “You two are so adorable,” one Instagram user gushed.

The ’90 Day Fiancé’ star answered a few questions from curious fans
As he often does, Michael took the time to answer some questions from 90 Day Fiancé fans about his travels, his relationship with Juliana, and more.
“Did you like Spain?” one viewer asked.
Michael answered, “Love Spain… ever since the first time I visited in 1999. One of the best countries in the whole world.”
Because of the camera angle, a few fans asked Michael if the snapshot was Photoshopped. But Michael, as ever, was ready with a retort. “Are you photoshopped? You look bigger than her in proportions,” one commenter wondered.
Michael quipped in response, ”Um, some parts of me are bigger in proportion.”
But if you’re hoping to see Juliana and Michael back on reality TV, it looks like it might not happen anytime soon. The 90 Day Fiancé stars have been open about their dissatisfaction with several aspects of TLC’s editing process, calling the network out on more than one occasion for how they were portrayed.
One fan wondered if Michael and Juliana would appear on 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk, like many of the other previous couples. “Not likely,” Michael answered.
Juliana’s husband also clapped back at critics
Of course, a few critics chimed in to comment on the TLC star’s age difference with his much younger wife, as well as other aspects of their relationship.
“Are you her dad?” one Instagram user wrote sarcastically.
“No…I am her husband,” Michael answered straightforwardly.
Another commenter thought the couple’s photo showed a little too much skin and PDA. “Love you guys but this photo is awkward AF lol,” they wrote.
Michael, who never shies away from addressing criticism, wrote back: “That doesn’t sound like love.” Juliana’s husband continued by calling out the critic for being “judgmental.” “It is judgmental, not honest,” he argued. “Honesty is a projection of truth or fact…saying something is ‘awkward AF’ is not a statement of truth or fact, it is an opinion…it is a judgmental opinion…that is not love.”
Yet another 90 Day Fiancé viewer pointed out the sizeable age difference between Juliana and her husband. “Wow, this guy is living his midlife crisis to the fullest,” they joked.
But Michael had the perfect retort, writing simply: “Beyond fullest…beyond crisis.”
