As fans know, Nicole flew to Morocco in March to visit her fiancé Azan Tefou. However, the COVID-19 pandemic hit during her trip. Morocco stopped international travel, making it difficult for Nicole to get home.
Nicole’s two-week trip turned into five months, while May was back in Florida with her mom, Robbalee. As Soap Dirt points out, there were flights that Nicole could have taken to get back home to her daughter. However, she chose to stay in Morocco with Azan.
While she was gone, Nicole missed out on a few of her daughter’s milestones. But, she continued to share pics of her daughter as if she was at home with her. This caused the hateful comments to pour in on social media.
Angry fans accused her of abandoning her daughter and missing out on May’s childhood. They were convinced that Nicole had chosen Azan over her daughter.
Nicole admits she’s a ‘bad mom’
A few days before Nicole flew home to Florida, the 90 Day Fiancé star posted a picture of May getting a haircut. In the caption, she leaned in on the criticism she’d been receiving from fans by adding the hashtag #badmom.
The hashtag came after fans called her a “terrible mother” for being away from her daughter in the middle of a global pandemic. They continued to remind her that “children grow up” fast, and she was “just missing everything.”
When the 90 Day Fiancé star did finally make it home, she posted pictures of her reuniting with her daughter at the airport. But, once again fans called her out for being in close contact with her daughter after traveling internationally during the pandemic.
Fans couldn’t believe Nicole didn’t quarantine for two weeks before coming into contact with her daughter again. Still, Nicole continues to ignore her haters, and she continues to share posts featuring her daughter. This has led to accusations that Nicole is exploiting May.

According to In Touch Weekly, Nicole recently shared a video of May learning how to change a tire. Immediately, fans started accusing her of making money off her daughter.
“SHOCKING!” one fan commented. “Glad you made 10 cents off your daughter’s life from all the posts here, Nicole.” Another added, “I used to love you, Nicole.”
The 90 Day Fiancé star immediately clapped back. She posted a thinking face emoji and wrote, “I can’t post things about my family? That’s all I post about on my account.
Now that she’s home, Nicole is making up for the time she lost with May. She wrote on Instagram that she was so happy to finally be home with her baby girl. The former barista added that it felt great to “get back to normal” with her.
Recently, Nicole posted about May losing another tooth, and she also received her very first LEGO set.
