’90 Day Fiancé: Nicole Nafziger’s Mom Says There’s ‘A Lot More’ to the Story of Nicole Abandoning May

Nicole Nafziger has been getting a lot of flack for spending so much time in Morocco. In March, Nicole went to Morocco to visit her 90 Day Fiancé boo Azan Tefou. Shortly after she arrived, travel restrictions started to become more severe as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continued to rage. Instead of coming back home to be with her daughter May, Nicole decided to stay in Morocco. The reality star has been out of the U.S. for months and fans have been harassing her about being away from her daughter for so long. Now, Nicole’s mother is standing up for her and revealing that there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes than a lot of people know.

Nicole and Azan’s on-and-off relationship

Fans of 90 Day Fiancé had a hard time believing Nicole and Tefou’s relationship from the very start. Tefou never seemed all that interested in Nicole and would often ignore her. In 2018, the two called off their wedding, claiming that it was too expensive. Instead, Nicole gave Tefou money to open a beauty shop in Morocco.

This made Nicole’s mom, Robbalee Nafziger, even more suspicious of Tefou’s intentions.

“I am surprised the purchasing of the store takes precedence over the wedding,” Nicole’s mom said at the time. “That looks suspicious. Maybe this whole store thing is Azan’s get-rich-quick scheme.”

Nicole’s trip to Morocco

Shortly after Nicole arrived in Morocco, the coronavirus pandemic became more serious and several countries around the world went on lockdown.

“Sucks everything is closed,” she wrote on her Instagram story from Morocco. “I am still in Morocco for everyone who wants to know. Not going home just yet but I’m fine. We’re good.”

Fans call Nicole out

People have been wondering where Nicole’s daughter May is and who has been taking care of her while Nicole is away.

Recently, Robbalee posted a picture of Nicole and Nicole’s sister Taylor to Instagram, which caused fans to comment on Nicole’s parenting skills.

“Congratulations! I bet Taylor will be an amazing mommy and actually keep her daughter unlike Nicole who [gave] hers away for a guy who married his cousin,” one fan wrote in a comment, captured by In Touch.

“In all seriousness though, you are an incredible lady and amazing grandma to take in the child your daughter abandoned,” the person wrote in a second comment. “May is so lucky to have you and Taylor.”

“There was no abandonment,” Robbalee responded to the fan. “She (May) is getting to spend some time with her grandparents while her mommy is away. There is a lot more to this story than a simple answer.”

She went on to explain that Nicole was still in her daughter’s life though she may not physically be there.

“They watch TV together or she shows her the peppers that grow in the garden,” she continued. “Right now, Florida is not even a safe place to come home to. When it is safe to travel, she looks forward to coming home. We are lucky to have this time with her.”
