’90 Day Fiancé’: Rosemarie Vega Opens Up About Her Glam Transformation After Her Breakup From Big Ed Brown
Rosemarie Vega, a single mom from the Philippines, endured a tumultuous relationship and a difficult breakup from Big Ed Brown on TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Many 90 Day Fiancé fans sympathized with Rose due to Big Ed’s poor treatment of her, including shaming her body hair, misrepresenting his (lack of) desire for more kids in the future, and asking her to take an STD test while refusing to take one himself.
But after TLC filming wrapped, Rose parlayed her fan-favorite status into a burgeoning career as a social media influencer. The 90 Day Fiancé star quickly attracted over half a million followers on Instagram and launched a YouTube video, where she shares life updates, cooking tutorials, and travel vlogs in her home country.
Most recently, Rose debuted a glamorous photoshoot on Instagram. In an accompanying YouTube video, she took 90 Day Fiancé fans behind the scenes of her shoot.
Rose shared a glam new photo set on Instagram
Rose and Ed had arguments about almost everything during their brief, tumultuous relationship. But it was Big Ed’s comments about Rose’s looks and body – including her unshaven leg hair, as well as her breath (due to an untreated stomach ulcer) – that especially turned many 90 Day Fiancé fans against him.
In mid-October 2020, Rose got her comeuppance against Big Ed with an ultra-glamorous set of professional photos (taken by @belgbelgica, with makeup by @nikkibetosmakeup, hair by @gelocibrianhair, and styling by @kimsison_).
On Instagram, the sweet-spirited single mom shared photos of herself in an off-the-shoulder white gown with slits up to the thigh and a carefully placed rose (an homage to her name) in her jewel-studded, recently colored hair. In other photos from the shoot, Rose donned a sleek, chic, all-black getup.
The 90 Day Fiancé star captioned the photos with inspirational quotes that seemed to reflect her own feelings about her journey into the public eye (and to better self-esteem).
“If people are doubting how far you can go, go so far that you can’t hear them anymore,” one such quote read.
’90 Day Fiancé’ fans raved over the single mom’s new look
Fans couldn’t believe how gorgeous and confident Rose was. 90 Day Fiancé viewers swarmed the comments of Rose’s Instagram posts and accompanying behind-the-scenes YouTube video to compliment her on her new look. Many fans noted that Rose seemed to be “glowing” from the inside out, radiating positivity and dignity.
“Love the glow up,” one fan commented. “Love seeing your journey and where it all started. May God continue to prosper you and your baby boy. Very beautiful.”
Many fans also, naturally, brought up Big Ed – and encouraged Rose never to settle for that kind of treatment again from a partner.
“YOU ARE GORGEOUS, NEVER LET ANYONE PUT YOU DOWN,” one Instagram user exclaimed.
Another gushed over Rose’s photo shoot, raving that the 90 Day Fiancé star was a “queen being treated like the queen she always has been.”
Big Ed’s ex opened up about her insecurities and body image in a new post
Since appearing on 90 Day Fiancé, Rose has opened up to fans about many of her struggles over the years. Big Ed’s ex-girlfriend has talked about growing up in poverty and continuing to struggle financially, as well as the challenges of single motherhood and the embarrassment of her ex’s comments on TLC.
After revealing her transformation in her most recent photo shoot, Rose got raw and real with 90 Day Fiancé fans yet again in a vulnerable Instagram post about colorism, body image, and overcoming insecurities.
“When I was younger, I was bullied because of my skin color,” Rose wrote in the emotional post. “It reached a certain point where I had insecurities. I was insecure with other women who [had] fair skin.”
Rose added that she tried “many products” that promised to change her skin color, but the real her always shined through.
“My natural skin color will always show,” she shared. “That experience of mine taught me to accept and embrace the real me, including the natural color of my skin; Morena. Yes, I still get insults until now but it does not affect me anymore. In fact, I become more stronger whenever I get one.” 😊
The 90 Day Fiancé star ended her post by encouraging her fans to embrace, love, and accept themselves exactly as they were. Many viewers called Rose’s words inspirational and courageous, praising her for encouraging others to develop the kind of self-confidence she displayed when she left Big Ed for treating her poorly.
