Rosemarie Vega earned a cult following of sorts when she first appeared on TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 with her then-boyfriend, Big Ed Brown.

Rose, a young single mom from the Phillippines, and Big Ed, a photographer and divorced dad from San Diego, had a tumultuous relationship that came to an end when Rose called Big Ed out for disrespecting and insulting her on camera on multiple occasions.

Since then, Rose has built on her platform from 90 Day Fiancé, gaining over 500,000 Instagram followers and over 600,000 subscribers on YouTube. Her brand partnerships, paid Cameo shoutouts, and multiple makeovers have had fans cheering her on as she built her self-esteem back after her allegedly toxic relationship with Ed.

In a recent YouTube video, Rose shared some of her many plans for the future, her feelings about TLC today, and even a tidbit about which 90 Day Fiancé star she still talks to.

Rose explained that her financial situation had completely turned around

In a Jan. 9 YouTube Q&A, Rose answered several burning questions from 90 Day Fiancé fans. Several viewers wanted to know how the young mom’s life had changed now that she was a bonafide social media influencer and reality TV star.

Rose revealed that her life looked very different after her time on TLC. She raved about being able to “entertain people” now and “provide for her son’s needs” more effectively with money from her brand partnerships and social media presence.

Big Ed’s ex-girlfriend was also recently able to buy a house in her home country outright for herself and her son, Prince. She previously lived with her family; in a sweet reversal, she now had a room in her brand-new home for her dad.

This was certainly a major, life-changing shift in her financial situation. Before appearing on 90 Day Fiancé, Rose explained, she was a “janitress” (a female janitor) at a local mall. She made the equivalent of about $10 a day.

The TLC star thanked her fans for making her new life possible.

“If not for you, Prince and I wouldn’t have these,” she gushed. “Thanks for the support!”

She appreciated her time on the show

As for 90 Day Fiancé, Rose told fans she enjoyed her time on the show and would absolutely do it again – but not with Big Ed! Instead, she’d go for a different kind of reality TV show next time.

Somewhat surprisingly, when a fan asked which TLC stars Rose was still in touch with, she revealed that she sometimes caught up with Babygirl Lisa Hamme (who dated Usman Umar on her season).

“I talk to Lisa sometimes. But sometimes, she’s very busy,” Rose said in the video. Still, the two women apparently formed an unlikely bond during their experience.

In another 90 Day Fiancé throwback, Rose shared that her stomach ulcer – which Big Ed harshly exposed in a notorious scene by telling his young girlfriend that she had bad breath because of it – was doing much better now. She was now able to access better medical care, and Rose said she took an antibiotic regularly to treat it.

“Before, I’d experience excruciating pain, but now it’s gone,” Rose said.

Big Ed’s ex hoped to get married and attend college in the future

As for her plans for the future, Rose said she still wanted to get married someday, despite her debacle with Big Ed. Her ideal man, she said somewhat pointedly, would respect her and her family.

Big Ed’s ex also had big plans for her education. The 90 Day Fiancé star even said she “missed studying.” While she enjoyed her college course in computer secretarial work, she had had to quit because of her financial problems at the time.

Now, with her newfound resources, she hoped she might be able to return to school. In terms of her major, Rose said she was interested in studying English, as well as other languages, in order to broaden her horizons and be able to converse with people from all over the world.

Rose also had ideas for future entrepreneurial ventures. She wanted to start her own line of merchandise (like apparel, bags, and accessories) and possibly launch her own business in the future.

Prince’s mom urged younger women to get started on their goals right away. “While you’re young, start early,” Rose advised. “Start dreaming and work on it, so when you get older, you won’t have to catch up…Given the chance, grab it! Why not?”

As usual, 90 Day Fiancé fans swarmed the comments with support for Rose. She built a large, supportive fan base after her disastrous breakup from Big Ed – and it doesn’t seem her influence is dwindling anytime soon.
