Jihoon Lee and Deavan Clegg of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way recently went through a very public breakup. The troubled couple became so steeped in turmoil that they were uninvited from the upcoming 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All.

29-year-old Jihoon, who hails from South Korea, accused 23-year-old Deavan of moving on too quickly to her new boyfriend, Topher Park, and of not allowing him to see their one-year-old son, Taeyang. Meanwhile, Deavan – a model and influencer from Utah – had plenty of accusations of her own. She even accused Jihoon of being abusive toward her daughter, Drascilla, at one point.

Both parties have adamantly denied each other’s claims, but it seems the damage was done. Deavan has recently been showing off her new man on social media, while Jihoon has been interacting more with fans on Instagram and YouTube. Most recently, he uploaded a video about his home country’s approach to etiquette that left some 90 Day Fiancé fans wondering if he was aiming the message at his estranged wife.

Jihoon recently shared a YouTube video about South Korean etiquette

Around the same time that his separation from Deavan went public, Jihoon began to interact with 90 Day Fiancé fans more often on social media – possibly as a means of dealing with the difficulty of the breakup and his inability to see his son, Taeyang. In the wake of the breakup, he launched a YouTube channel called “M.A.C. Jihoon” (an acronym that plays on his most famous line on 90 Day Fiancé, “My whole family anal is so clean”).

On October 8, Deavan’s ex uploaded a video called “Manner Maketh Jihoon,” all about the basic points of South Korean etiquette.

One of the main rules of Korean manners and traditions, Jihoon first explained, was that “you need to respect the elder people and treat them well in Korea.”

In a series of funny skits with his friend, Jihoon covered issues like table manners, posture, body movements, respectful gestures, and other interactions with older people.

Example of the “rules of etiquette” Jihoon addressed include waiting for older people in the room to eat before taking the first bite, bowing one’s head when an older person serves drinks, and stepping aside or around someone instead of bumping into them or stepping over any part of their body.

Some fans wondered if Jihoon’s video was pointed in his ex’s direction

Some 90 Day Fiancé fans immediately wondered if Jihoon might be taking a few jabs or digs at his soon-to-be-ex-wife.

Deavan and her mother, Elicia Clegg, were often criticized on the show for their comments about Jihoon’s home country, which were frequently perceived as rude, harsh, and ignorant. Deavan also caught some flack for her behavior towards Jihoon’s parents, especially his mother (who openly stated that she wished her daughter-in-law was Korean).

In the video, Jihoon claimed that people who didn’t show respect to their elders in South Korea might be considered “spoiled” and “uneducated.” They could also be “criticized” for having “no manners.”

At the end of the video, Jihoon wondered aloud “how it was different in the States,” leading some fans to speculate in the comments that he may have been subtly referencing his ex’s behavior in his home country.

Fans had mixed reactions to Jihoon’s video

Many 90 Day Fiancé fans chimed in to argue that Deavan could use a brush-up on manners herself.

“I think somebody should watch this video and learn how to discipline herself,” one YouTube user snarked.

“A certain American never-single-always-victim mother can really learn from this video,” another agreed.

But some viewers disagreed, arguing that Jihoon (through his immaturity and alleged dishonesty) had contributed to the breakdown of his relationship just as much as Deavan, if not more.

“He takes no responsibility for his family, while his mother enables him,” one fan wrote of Jihoon. “They deserve each other. Jihoon needs to grow the f*ck up.”

Still others were simply happy that Jihoon appeared to be moving on and making his own connections with friends and fans, while others said they just hoped the young dad could reunite with Taeyang at some point soon.
