’90 Day Fiancé ‘ Star Ashley Martson Quitting Show Amid Jay Smith Detention
The last few months have been a wild ride for 90 Day Fiancé star Ashley Martson. After entering a wellness retreat to help her deal with depression following her divorce from Jay Smith, Ashley wound up having to deal with him in court. To top that all off, Jay Smith is now being detained by ICE, and facing deportation. Amid all of this, Ashley Martson will soon be seeing her final episode and is getting ready to say goodbye to 90 Day Fiancé for good.
Her divorce with Jay Smith
Ashley Martson and Jay Smith had a tumultuous and short-lived marriage. The 90 Day Fiancé couple were married in Las Vegas, but it wasn’t long before Martson caught Smith chatting up other women on Tinder. And by not long, we mean a matter of days.
Martson initially filed for divorce, but had a change of heart 11 days later, taking Smith back. Whatever reasons she might have had for taking him back, they were apparently unrealistic — she caught Jay Smith in yet another infidelity scandal. This time, Smith had sex with a woman in the bathroom of a barbershop. Real classy.
According to Martson, splitting with Smith was challenging, and he actually initially refused to leave her home. Meanwhile, Smith’s sister has been claiming that the entire barbershop scandal was a set-up by Martson. In recent Instagram posts, Smith’s sister wrote, “[Ashley] called me right after telling me that the show set it up. And Jay was so f****** horny and stupid and fell right in the trap!”

Previously, Martson had a Protection From Abuse order taken out on Jay Smith — apparently, she came back from a trip to find that he’d trespassed on her property. The PFA prevents Smith from harassing Martson, or discussing her on social media.
Smith immediately took to Instagram to post about the PFA, which instantly violated it. Smith ended up with a warrant out for his arrest, and turned himself in. He is being detained at the York County Prison in Pennsylvania, pending the final decision by ICE as to his future in the U.S.
Martson told CeleBuzz, “This is a very sad situation overall…I’m not popping champagne bottles celebrating today. It’s hard to sit here and think about how he’s sitting in a jail cell right now, but I also have to remember everything he put me through the past year.”
According to Martson, Smith did anything he could to stay in the country. She said, “He literally did everything he possibly could to get me to freak out because he was informed that if he could prove abuse on his end that he could stay in the country. For a while we were trying to work it out, and then one day he asked me to come over to his house to pick up my passport, and I go over and he has a half-naked girl on his couch.”
Ashley Martson is finished with the show
Now, the 90 Day Fiancé star says she’s done with the show. According to an Instagram post, Martson is officially quitting the series. In a lengthy caption, Martson expressed her feelings regarding her time on the show.
“As the show is approaching the final episode, I wanted to take time to say I appreciate all the support and love from the fans. I was given an opportunity that many wish for and I am grateful for that. I was given the chance to let the world take a sneak peak into my life and even though it didn’t end how any one wanted or anticipated, it’s not something I regret or would take back!” wrote Martson, in part.
She also added, “The amount of support I have received majorly outweighs the hate and I appreciate every message that you so kindly took time out of your day to write me. I have felt the true meaning of love and heartbreak and many other lessons while filming this show.”
