What happened between Babygirl Lisa and Usman Umar?

Hamme and Umar got married on this season of Before the 90 Days. Unfortunately, the marriage did nothing to quell their constant arguing. Leaked clips from the tell-all reunion special showed Umar revealing that Hamme called him a racial slur.

“The point that I want to bring out is,” Umar said. “Please, all the American ladies should tell me about this. Is that how America lady behave?”

Hamme, seemingly knowing what was coming, tried to stop Umar from speaking.

“If you start this sh*t again,” she said. “Do not open that can of worms. Do not. Do not start. Let me tell you something. Listen, if you open a can of worms.”

But Umar continued anyway.

“Lisa, last week you called me n*gger which I know is totally inappropriate in America. You called me n*gger, I don’t even get angry about it because I am used to how you are behaving.”

Hamme has since apologized for what she said and tried to show fans that she and Umar were OK.

“You see her, we have resolved everything,” Umar said in a video. “Everything is OK now. Not going to have any problems anymore.”

She also went live on Instagram to apologize.

“It is said if you sin and you apologize and you pray for forgiveness, it is forgiven,” she said. “So, my husband and I, it is a private manner between him and I. Because they are not going to drop it and it’s sad. Because the world needs to be united. We are human beings.”

TLC is canceling her interviews

Though the leaked footage of the tell-all showed Umar accusing Hamme of calling him the horrible word, the actual airing of the reunion did not include that segment. TLC has not spoken on why they removed that portion of the special, but with the current state of the world, they may not have wanted to air such inflammatory language.

Since the special aired, TLC canceled one of Hamme’s interviews.

“Today’s interview with @trentoncomedy and @baby_girl_lisa2020 had been canceled due to TLC not allowing Lisa to do the interview,” Hamme’s booking agent Rocco Straz posted on Instagram.

Is TLC done with Babygirl Lisa Hamme?

TLC hasn’t made an official statement about whether Hamme will remain with the franchise or not. She definitely brought in viewers, but as tensions around the world have reached a fever pitch in regard to racial inequality, more television networks are realizing how harmful it is to keep cast members who have exhibited racist behavior on their shows.

Hamme also broke TLC’s NDA by revealing things about her relationship with Umar before the season ended. So, the network has more than one reason to cut ties with her.
