Season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days may be over but fans still have a number of questions for the cast. One of the strangest storylines this whole season was the relationship between Geoffrey Paschel and Varya Malina. The two broke up during Paschel’s trip to Russia but then got engaged when Malina surprised Paschel in America. Going into the tell-all reunion special, fans wanted to know what was up with the two. Were they still engaged? Were they even still together? But we did not get to find out the answers to these questions as neither Malina nor Paschel appeared on the tell-all.
Why didn’t Geoffrey Paschel appear on the tell-all?
Before this season of 90 Day Fiancé even started airing, fans discovered Paschel’s checkered past and that he had a number of pending charges against him. Upon learning this, many fans requested that Paschel be kicked off the show. When it was announced that Paschel would not be a part of the tell-all, many fans assumed it was because of the public outcry against him. Now, Paschel says that wasn’t exactly the case.
“I’m not sad that I wasn’t on it,” Paschel said during an Instagram Live with rep Rocco Straz.
He confirmed that the status of his legal issues was why he was not asked to come to the reunion.
“The mentality of keeping me off the tell-all because somebody said something is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard in my life,” he said.“I want my court case to be over with, and as soon as my court case is over with, then my life will proceed. My life is going fine now, don’t think that I’m holding back on anything. But it’s the ‘he said, she said crap.’ But I’m prepared. I did my homework, and I’m — I was the one who was there, you know.”
Why wasn’t Varya Malina at the reunion?
During his Instagram conversation, Paschel mentioned that Malina did not join the tell-all in an act of solidarity with him. If that is the case, it could mean that Malina and Paschel are still together despite a previous Instagram post from Malina suggesting that she had broken up with him.
What are the charges against Geoffrey Paschel?
Paschel’s charges are tied to an incident that happened on June 9, 2019. According to an affidavit obtained by In Touch, Paschel’s ex-girlfriend called the cops on him from a neighbor’s house after an alleged altercation between them.
On Jan. 17, Paschel appeared in court on charges of kidnapping, domestic assault, vandalism, and interference with emergency calls.
“He repeatedly bashed/slammed my head into the hardwood floors of my home,” the woman said in her order of protection request, according to Knox News.
“He dragged me through the house by my hair and continued throwing my body into walls and furniture,” she continued. “I know this because of blood on my walls, furniture, etc.”
Paschel was originally scheduled to appear in court for these charges on Mar. 26 but that had to be postponed as the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic prevented group gatherings. He is now set to appear in court on June 26.
