Johnny has to quit his job before he can visit Ella in the US

On the June 20 episode of 90 Day Diaries, Ella is excited that Johnny plans to visit her on her ranch in Idaho Falls, Idaho. However, there are some loose ends that Johnny has to tie up before he can come to meet Ella in real life. He must get approval to quit his job. Then he can come.

Ella explained that if Johnny wanted to come for a long trip, he must quit his job. She revealed that the resignation process in China differs from in the US. He must get a “stamp of approval” from his manager before properly resigning. If he quits without approval, he will never be able to find another job in China again.

Johnny couldn’t resign from his job

Ella was hoping that Johnny would be coming to the US in one week to see her. However, Johnny revealed that his manager refused to give him approval for his resignation.

Johnny says, “It’s really hard. If I choose to quit the job without [a] company stamp on the resignation paper. I will not work in China again.” Since Johnny is financially taking care of his son, Stoney, and his aging parents, he decides he will stay.

Johnny promised Ella to try to get approval again in 30 days. When Ella gets upset with him, he offers up a solution. He tells Ella, “I maybe just ask the government what can they do? [sic]” He’s going to take the request to the local government in the hopes of bypassing his manager and getting the approval he needs.

Ella is frustrated that Johnny’s trip has been postponed again

A frustrated Ella tells Johnny that if he doesn’t come to the US soon, she will have to move on from their relationship. Ella says, “I’m really frustrated and hurt and upset because I really love this man.” However, she feels like she’s waiting around, only to keep getting let down.

Johnny knows this is his last chance to prove to Ella that he’s serious about her. She told him, “These are your options, baby. You either come, and you make this work, or you don’t come, and we will probably never get to meet.” She continues, “I guess it comes down to you. Do you want to have a future with me or not? Because I know that you are my future.”
