Yara Zaya was not impressed with much of anything her fiance, Jovi Dufren had to offer when she first arrived in America. And the 90 Day Fiancé star’s attitude led some fans to wonder if she “complains” a little too much.

The ’90 Day Fiancé’ couple reunited in New Orleans

Jovi and Yara started dating after meeting through a travel app. Jovi, a 27-year-old underwater robotics specialist from New Orleans, first met up with Yara in Budapest. The couple then went on several trips together, and Jovi also visited Yara in her home country of Ukraine.

Six months into their romance, Yara learned she was pregnant. Jovi proposed and applied for her to come to the United States on a K-1 90-Day visa. Unfortunately, before the visa was issued, Yara suffered a miscarriage.

The 24-year-old arrived in Jovi’s hometown on the second episode of 90 Day Fiancé. When she landed, Yara was clearly upset that Jovi kept asking her to go check out the town after she had traveled for nearly 30 hours. And when she got to his apartment, she noted how small and unkept it was.

Yara wasn’t impressed with America

Before Yara could get properly settled into their new place, Jovi decided to take her out to Bourbon Street. The two walked around New Orleans famed party hub, but Yara was less than impressed.

“New Orleans, I was thinking it will be different because they have so many people here,” Yara told 90 Day Fiancé producers. “But, oh my goodness, Bourbon Street, I don’t even know how people go there. For my European mentality, it’s just too much. It just smells like pee and throwing up. It’s so terrible.”

“I think America will be…I may not think that America is sweet dreams or something like that, but like, Ukraine looks better,” she said to Jovi. “I mean it’s like more poor, but it does look better.”

And when Jovi asked her to spend the night at his mother’s house, Yara said she’d be uncomfortable and refused.  Jovi kept pushing until Yara threatened to go back to Ukraine.

Some ’90 Day Fiancé’ fans think Yara complains a lot

After seeing Yara slam Jovi’s apartment, his city, and his country, some 90 Day Fiancé fans felt like she was overdoing it. “She complains too much,” one Reddit user suggested

“That’s a NICE Apartment,” another Redditor wrote. “Does she know what other fiancé’s have to live in? At least they have their own place!”

But others felt like she was only complaining because Jovi may have painted a different picture of his life before she arrived. “She’s spoiled but you hear little hints of why because he likely sold her some dream he’s not gonna fulfill,” one Reddit user speculated

A few pointed out that Jovi kept putting Yara in uncomfortable positions. And one fan suggested that Yara is a strong woman who just speaks her mind.

” A woman says she doesn’t like something or is uncomfortable, and the gross, judgemental comments come cascading in,” the Redditor wrote. “But she certainly has the right to say when she’s not comfortable with something, particularly when it’s day two and Jovi’s already telling her that she’s disrespectful, that she doesn’t have a choice, and that she should be grateful that she’s not in Ukraine anymore. Good for her for standing up for herself, honestly.”
