Much to fans’ surprise, after seven years of dating, Tim got down on one knee and asked Melyza to be his wife. Since then, the pair have been reunited and are living in Dallas, Texas. However, it’s not a permanent move for Melyza as she only has a six-month tourist visa in the US and will have to go back to Colombia when it expires.

On the latest episode of 90 Day Diaries, Tim and Melyza talk to an immigration lawyer about the K-1 visa process. The lawyer revealed that the K-1 visa process might take anywhere from “22 and a half to 24 months” to process due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pair have a hard time dealing with long-distance due to trust issues. Melyza expressed her concerns that if she has to go back to Colombia for two years while the visa is processing, Tim will cheat again.

Melyza was absolutely devastated with the news that she will have to wait in Colombia for up to two years while waiting for her K-1 visa to be approved. The 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star was sure that the K-1 visa process would take only “six to 10 months,” so the news came as quite a shock to her. In the Twitter clip from the July 11th episode, Meylza speaks to her friend about her concerns regarding Tim’s infidelity. At this point, Melyza’s biggest worry is Tim’s infidelity. She says, “I definitely worry that the cheating is going to happen again.”

In the episode, Melyza calls her friend David for advice after hearing the bad news that the visa could take up to two years. She told David, “To be completely honest, I don’t really trust him, still, at all.” That’s when David asks Melyza the million-dollar question, “How are you marrying someone who you don’t trust?” She says that she sees that Tim is putting in the effort and making changes. When confronted about why she’s staying in a relationship with a man she doesn’t trust, she begins to cry, saying that she loves him but telling people she doesn’t trust her fiancé is “embarrassing.”

What’s next for Tim and Melyza?

She then explains to David that she feels like she shouldn’t be with Tim, that deep down, she feels like he doesn’t respect her or, at this point, even “deserve” her. While Tim is obviously putting in the work and effort to make it up to Melyza, it will be a long road to marriage because of the K-1 visa processing time. Melyza’s friend, David, says to the cameras that he believes Melyza could do much better than Tim, and he’s hoping she will realize it.
