A Million Little Things will return for season 3 on Nov. 19, 2020. In the meantime, fans cannot stop thinking about whether or not Eddie Saville (David Giuntoli) lives. He was struck by a car during the season 2 finale after leaving a bar where he decided not to drink. Fans have three reasons why they believe their beloved character will not die from the car accident.

‘A Million Little Things’: The group is still recovering from Jon’s suicide

The series began with the unexpected suicide of their beloved friend, Jon Dixon (Ron Livingston). A group of friends bonded together after death and supported one another. However, fans do not believe that the writers would kill off another main character.

“Do you think the group is still getting over Jon’s suicide?” one fan asked on Instagram. “This will be season 3? I think they just can’t kill off another main character!”

Viewers believe that the group is still recovering from their friend’s death. They are growing and learning to lean on each other, but another casualty in the same friend group seems unlikely. Some fans even point out that it is not a Grey’s Anatomy type of show where many main characters died over the years.

Eddie has conquered too much as a character to die

Throughout the first two seasons, viewers found out that Eddie is a recovering alcoholic who was cheating on his wife with his best friend. After Jon dies, Delilah Dixon (Stephanie Szostak) turns out to be pregnant. It turns out that Eddie is the father of his best friend’s wife’s baby. It’s a lot, but it’s true.

“I love this show, but that poor man has gone through SO MUCH & I’ve loved his character development,” one fan wrote. “It’ll be so devastating to everyone if they kill him, or any of the friends, off.”

After all of his wrongs, Eddie makes things right with his wife. They tell their son and Delilah’s children that the baby is Eddie’s. It’s heartbreaking for the children, but the group helps them do the right thing. Eddie’s wife, Katherine (Grace Park), begins to forgive him, and they plan to renew their wedding vows.

“Please don’t tell me Eddie is dead. Really wanted him and Katherine to make it,” another fan added on Instagram.

Fans feel that Eddie is a beloved character who has been through so much. It wouldn’t make sense to have him die tragically.

The ‘A Million Little Things’ creator alludes to change but not death

In an interview with Deadline, show creator DJ Nash gave a few hints that made fans believe Eddie does not die.

“He was hit by the car, and, what I’ve said about this is, I’m not confirming whether he’s dead or alive,” Nash told the outlet. “I will say that Katherine and Theo’s life will never be the same.”

Viewers know that the show creators and producers have to build up the suspense of the cliffhanger. However, they also have several other ideas for how Katherine and Theo’s life may change without killing Eddie.

“I’m going to guess he lives but ends up disabled somehow, perhaps wheelchair-bound,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “Or with a long recovery requiring intense PT, which will lead to depression and a relapse with his addiction.”
