‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 5 Recap: Gary tells the truth
Although Gary wanted to enact revenge on Peter Benoit (Andrew Leeds) in the A Million Little Things Season 3 finale, he didn’t intend to hurt the man. Christopher Gregory (Michael Weston) took things too far, which landed Peter in the hospital. (From what viewers know, Peter sexually assaulted both Sophie and Christopher’s daughter, Layla). Gary wanted to scare Peter, but Christopher couldn’t hold back when the music teacher said he loved Layla. Instead, Christopher beat him up badly enough to land Peter in the hospital.
In A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 5, Peter is awake and ready to go home. However, before he leaves the hospital, Peter requests that Gary visit. Peter asks Gary to take Sophie Dixon’s (Lizzy Greene) podcast down in exchange for lying to the police about the assault. Gary refuses and Christopher agrees they would rather he press charges.
When Eddie asks Gary why he broke up with Darcy, Gary tells the truth. Then he explains to Sophie what happened. Meanwhile, Christopher confides in his wife, Georgia (Kari Matchett), about Peter. Although Georgia understands why her husband assaulted Peter, Sophie feels that Gary continually makes her life harder. However, later she decides to take the podcast down to save Layla’s mom from the heartache of having her husband go to jail.
Maggie connects with Jane and Nick
In A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 5, Nick (Mark Derwin) calls Jane Goodman (Stephnie Weir) a robot. He insists all she cares about is numbers. Jane gives Maggie Bloom (Allison Miller) the news that the numbers aren’t there and today will be her last show. She isn’t personal enough. So, in her last show, Maggie tells her cancer story in a heartfelt goodbye. Jane listened in on the last few minutes of Maggie’s show and has a change of heart. She invites Maggie to stay in the job and she pours her heart out about her past relationship with Nick. Jane didn’t choose her job over Nick, she was afraid of him seeing her cancer scars.
Later in A Million Little Things, a new guy, Mr. Lamaru (Ryan Hansen from Veronica Mars) flirts with Maggie in the break room. He teases her about her coffee choices and then takes her phone number. After she leaves the room, a young kid asks for his autograph — apprently he’s a popular hockey player.
‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 5 Recap: Katherine goes on a date
In A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 5, Katherine’s mother (Susan Hanson) comes for a visit to watch Theo (Tristan Byon). Her mother also tries to push a single dentist on Katherine. However, Shanice Williamson (Nikiva Dionne) asks Katherine to grab lunch together and the new couple nonchalantly call it a date. When Katherine finds out that Shanice’s production is moving to Miami, she’s upset. Later, the two women have a discussion about their feelings, and Katherine admits she’s afraid to feel what she’s feeling for Shanice. The moment ends with a tender kiss.
Eddie tries to help Nicole — the person who hit him
The reason Nicole (Rachel Nichols) left the scene of the crime is more heartbreaking than anyone thought. She is in an abusive relationship and couldn’t bear what might happen to her son if she went to jail or her husband found out. However, the last time we saw her, she left an envelope full of money for Eddie because of her guilt over the accident. In A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 5, Eddie discusses what to do with the money with his therapist, Russ (Michael Patrick Thornton). Eddie turns over the lease to his new apartment to Nicole and her son so she can get out of the abusive relationship. Instead, he plans to stay with Gary.
Rome decides what he wants to do with his documentary
Meanwhile, in A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 5, Rome (Romany Malco) agrees to show his documentary to his father’s (Lou Beatty, Jr.) Men’s Bible group. However, the word spread and the turn out is larger than expected. Rome had an amazing time sharing his movie.
Regina (Christina Moses) continues getting to know Valerie (Andrea Navedo) at Crocodilz. Plus, Shanice pays Regina a visit at work and scares their boss, Gerald, into being nicer to them. However, Shanice also makes Reginia an offer for a catering position on her set. The production is heading to Miami, so she will be relocating for a few months. Regina asks Valerie to come with her and she agrees.
