The A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 9, “Any Way the Wind Blows,” recap won’t help viewers sort out the Maggie (Allison Miller), Gary (James Roday Rodriguez), and Camden (Ryan Hansen) love triangle. However, it does give insight into why Maggie Bloom moved to Boston so suddenly. Eddie (David Giuntoli) helps Rome (Romany Malco) cope with his depression. The only thing viewers might hate is that there’s not even one mention of Delilah and Danny Dixon in France (Stephanie Szostak and Chance Hurstfield). But one newcomer joined the A Million Little Things cast for season 4, making things interesting with Katherine (Grace Park).

‘A Million Little Things’: What happened between Maggie and Gary?

The midseason premiere of A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 9 opens with that awkward phone conversation in the car that the preview made such a fuss about between Maggie and Cam. However, it wasn’t as big of a deal as the trailer made it out to be. Cam was happy to hear that Maggie would have someone with her when she confronted her stalker, even if it was her ex-boyfriend, Gary.

When Gary and Maggie arrive in Albany, she finally gives more insight into her and her client, Justin. He was one of Maggie’s first clients, and his brother died of Cystic Fibrosis. So Maggie hopes to help his grieving mother, Meredith (Cheryl Swan), even if she was the one stalking her. Gary believes Maggie is trying to fix someone who isn’t asking for help. Meanwhile, Gary also admits remorse over hurting Peter Benoit (Andrew Leeds).

Maggie feels guilty because the doctor told her to stop seeing patients after he gave her a cancer diagnosis. Instead, she continued seeing patients, and a massive chunk of her hair fell out during a session with Justin. When he brought her a tissue, Justin moved to kiss Maggie. She pulled away but felt guilty for not pulling away fast enough. Maggie explained that it was inappropriate, but Justin stopped coming to sessions afterward. She thinks she could be the reason he died by suicide.

“It is never just one thing,” Gary insists. (He doesn’t repeat what follows. We should all know that by now. It’s A Million Little Things).

Maggie realizes that she’s there to ask for forgiveness, but what Meredith needs is someone to blame so that she doesn’t blame herself. Instead, Maggie heads back to Boston to go live on her radio show. Camden unexpectedly left his Bruins game to be there for Maggie when she went live on the air on “In the Room With Doctor Bloom.” She discusses forgiveness, second chances, and letting go of the past. However, in the last few moments of the episode, Maggie thanks someone she leaned on today, who she loves. Does she still love Gary? It seems implied. Since Gary felt closure with Darcy, he’s open to revisiting his relationship with Maggie.

‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4 Episode 9 recap: Rome, Regina, and Eddie

Meanwhile, Rome insists to Regina (Christina Moses) that he will get up out of bed and call his doctor (Dr. Heller). However, as soon as Regina leaves, he lays back down in bed. Luckily, Regina told Eddie about Rome’s depression. Eddie takes Rome along while he taxis his Uber (or Lyft) customers around. Later Eddie takes Rome to relax by an indoor pool.

Rome admits that listening to Black stories while he took his film on tour was hard. Between that and Regina being away, it just hit him. That’s when Rome pushes Eddie to try swimming for the first time since his accident. Both men end up in the pool fully clothed, shoes and all. When Rome gets home that night he finally makes an appointment with his doctor.

Over in Regina’s world, she finally tracks down Valerie (Andrea Navedo) and apologizes for telling her boss in Miami that Valerie was in prison. She also gives a peace offering of coffee and her last paycheck. Valerie admits that she was in jail for three years for stolen credit cards. When she got out, her daughter didn’t want her in her life anymore. Regina encourages her to keep trying with her daughter, and later she calls her father, Ronald, to continue trying to mend their estranged relationship.

Who is Katherine’s new love interest in ‘A Million Little Things’ Season 4?

A Million Little Things Season 4 Episode 9 shows Theo (Tristan Byon) questioning Katherine about her recent date. However, he repeatedly calls the date a “him,” and Katherine doesn’t correct him. It looks like she’ll be visiting that conversation again later.

Katherine admits to her friend and legal assistant Carter French (Sam Pancake) that her friend from middle school, Greta (Cameron Esposito), is now a celebrity tattoo artist. However, she’s ignoring Katherine’s DMs. They were best friends through middle school. She even helped at her parent’s donut shop. However, in sophomore year, Greta asked Katherine to go to the homecoming dance as more than friends. Katherine laughed it off, and things were awkward after.

Katherine decides to visit Greta at her tattoo parlor, Strobe Lights, with coaxing from Carter. She finds out that the receptionist, Meetra (Donia Kash), runs the social media account for Greta, and that’s why she didn’t respond to the DMs. The tattoo artist is happy to see Katherine, and the two hit it off. They end up hooking up in the back of the tattoo parlor after a long heart-to-heart and many laughs about their shared past.

“This is not just a phase; I want it now,” Katherine says, half about the tattoo and half about her middle school best friend.
