A new documentary will reveal Princess Diana’s darkest secrets

The four-part documentary titled Being Me: Diana is set to explore the mental issues Diana faced throughout her life. This includes eating disorders she fought, her failed marriage to Prince Charles, and some childhood issues.

The documentary will reportedly include a video of Princess Diana’s speeches and interviews with some of her closest friends. The footage will reportedly offer an insight into the struggles she faced before her marriage fell apart.

A company named DSP made the documentary. It is expected to eventually make its way to Netflix, though a deal has yet to be reached.

In the event that the controversial documentary streams on Netflix, inside sources claim that Harry will not be happy about it, especially after the Duke of Sussex recently worked for the streaming giant.

Prince Harry makes his Netflix debut

At the end of April, Harry served as a host for a special on Netflix titled Thomas and Friends: The Royal Engine. The program featured animated versions of Harry’s father, Charles, and Queen Elizabeth.

The Duke of Sussex introduced the special while reading a book from the comfort of an armchair. Harry explained how he was a huge fan of the series as a child and that he is proud to be involved in his own Thomas & Friends episode about the royal family.

“I certainly have fond memories of growing up with Thomas & Friends and being transported to new places through his adventures,” Harry shared. “I am very proud to have been asked to take part in this special episode. I wish Thomas and Friends a very happy anniversary.”

According to Express, Harry agreed to appear in the special a long time ago and the entire royal family knew about the project. Buckingham Palace also confirmed that Harry filmed the special before his exit went into effect.

Harry did not receive any money for appearing on the show. Instead, he donated his entire salary to a number of different charities controlled by his Travalyst initiative.

Will the documentary derail Prince Harry’s future with Netflix?

Given Harry’s recent dealings with Netflix, a source claims that he is going to be “very upset” if the streaming service airs the documentary about Princess Diana.

“William and Harry will be very upset and angry,” the insider dished. “It’s particularly distressing for Harry because he’s been working with Netflix.”

To make things even more complicated, Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are reportedly in talks with Netflix about future projects. The couple has not confirmed any of these rumors, but it sounds like the documentary could change their minds.

The insider added that the royal family did not take part in the new documentary about Princess Diana. It is unclear if the film will ever make it to Netflix, though a spokesperson for DSP revealed that everything included in the documentary is part of the public domain.

Experts say this is why Princess Diana ‘lacked discipline’

Although Diana’s struggles with eating disorders and suicide will likely be a focal point of the film, her failed marriage to Charles will also take center stage.

During Diana’s time in the royal spotlight, she was often viewed as being a rebellious member of the royal family. According to Express, royal expert Howard Hodgson argues that her rebellious spirit stems from her days in boarding school and how her parents handled the situation.

In his book, Charles: The Man Who Will Be King, Hodgson wrote that both Princess Diana and Prince Charles hated boarding school. But unlike Charles, who was forced to remain in boarding school, Diana’s parents immediately came to her rescue.

“The fact that they acquiesced after just one term is in stark contrast to the years of misery suffered by Charles at Gordonstoun and perhaps offers more than a little explanations to why, in her later role, she often lacked the discipline that her husband and his family expected of her,” Hodgson shared.

Charles and Diana tied the knot in a gorgeous wedding in 1981. After welcoming two sons, the couple’s marriage began to crumble in the late 1980s before they announced their separation in 1992. They finalized their divorce in 1996, a year before Princess Diana’s tragic accident in Paris.
