Fox’s The O.C. was a TV series for the times. From the beloved characters to their relatable and entertaining storylines, audiences and viewers were instantly hooked on The O.C. Still, despite the love of the show, star Adam Brody has one regret from the time. Rachel Bilson, however, doesn’t feel the same.

Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson’s acting careers took off largely thanks to The O.C. In the popular series, they played Seth Cohen and Summer Roberts. Seth has had a crush on Summer for years, and she finally starts to pay attention to him, thanks to the arrival of his housemate, Ryan Atwood (Ben McKenzie).

Seth and Summer’s romance remains a touchstone of the series. Their chemistry while filming was so organic it even led Brody and Bilson dating for a few years. Despite calling it quits, the two actors remain friendly. In fact, Bilson told Brody in 2021, “I was never better than when I was acting with you.”

Brody regrets his ‘The O.C.’-era fashion, but Bilson doesn’t

Of course, not everything that happened during the show was great. On a 2016 episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, when asked about his fashion regrets, Brody said he wished he could take everything back “pre-2010”. While he focused primarily on dismissing his ’90s fashion ala “the Coreys” and “Vanilla Ice,” it’s safe to assume he might also be thinking of some of his early ’00s looks.

Bilson, on the other hand, owns her fashion choices. This became clear when she appeared on an episode on InStyle’s “Let’s Unpack That.” Holding up a photo from a 2003 event, Bilson broke down her blast-from-the-past style. Despite rocking jeans under a dress, Bilson reaffirmed her choice. “By the way, totally cool with wearing that now,” she stated firmly. “Everything comes back,” she reminded viewers.

While acknowledging she’s “older” now and her style has evolved, Bilson said, “I’m OK with it,” adding, “I’m not horrified.”

Bilson and Brody’s careers continued without one another, with her making strides on TV in shows like Hart of Dixie and him seeing some big-screen success with Shazam! However, the pair reunited to discuss the show that made them famous.

Fans who’ve been craving a reunion can tune into Welcome to the OC, B——, Bilson’s podcast with another former co-star, Melinda Clarke. The former couple took a stroll down memory lane for the first time since The O.C. went off the air in 2007. “We hadn’t really spoken since the show wrapped,” she told People. They previously caught up during a 2019 airport run-in that nearly broke the internet.

While Brody may regret his ’00s style, clearly, the two share no animosity. “I don’t remember a lot of negativity surrounding myself and Adam,” Bilson said. “He was just such an important person in my life,” she continued, “it was like just catching up with an old family member.”
