The 93rd Academy Awards will take place Sunday, Apr. 25, 2021. Many Adam Driver fans are wondering if the actor has ever won an Oscar. Find out if Driver has won an Academy Award in the past and whether or not he’s nominated this year.

What awards has Adam Driver won? 

In the past, Driver won several Critics Choice Awards and Film Festival Awards. In 2019, he was recognized for Best Actor in Marriage Story from the Alliance of Woman Film Journalists, the Atlanta Film Critics Circle, and the Chicago Film Critics Association. Similar associations have also nominated Driver for other films, including Tracks, BlacKkKlansman, Paterson, and Inside Llewyn Davis. 

The Star Wars actor has also won awards from the Venice Film Festival, the Gotham Independent Film Awards, and the Independent Spirit Awards. In 2016, the MTV Movie and TV Awards recognized Driver as the Best Villain for his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. 

As far as awards from major associations like the Academy Awards, Emmys, and Golden Globes, Driver has been nominated several times. Since 2013, Driver has been nominated for award categories like Best Supporting Actor, Outstanding Performance, and Best Actor, but has never won. Each year, fans are hopeful these associations will recognize the talented star with a win. 

Adam Driver was nominated for 2 Academy Awards before 

In 2019, the Academy nominated Driver for Best Supporting Actor for his role in BlacKkKlansman. He lost to Mahershala Ali for his supporting role in Green Book.

In the film, Driver plays Flip Zimmerman, a Jewish-American police officer. Together with Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), the duo work to take down the Ku Klux Klan in the Spike Lee movie.

Later, the following year in 2020, Driver was nominated for Best Actor. His portrayal of Charlie in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story won over many audiences, but it wasn’t enough for the Academy. Instead, Joaquin Phoenix won the Oscar for his starring role in Joker. 

Is Adam Driver nominated for an Oscar in 2021?

The Academy did not nominate Driver for any awards in 2021. However, with roles in movies like House of Gucci and Annette, 2022 could be Driver’s year to bring home an Oscar.

How to watch the 2021 Oscars 

It’s unlikely Driver will be in attendance this year, as none of the movies he is in are up for an Academy Award.
