After his heartbreaking divorce from country music singer Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton’s marriage to Gwen Stefani has become highly anticipated — even by The Voice co-costar Adam Levine.

Many started to speculate if the close pal of the “Some Beach” singer would be the one singing at his wedding as soon as 2021, and it seems likely.

Levine has come out and said he really does want to perform and Shelton and Stefani’s wedding but doesn’t think they want him to. Keep reading to find out who he thinks they’ll hire to sing instead!

You may have seen the singer’s appearance in some highly viewed series like 30 Rock and Pitch Perfect 2 as himself, but most people know Levine as the lead singer of Maroon 5. Some of Maroon 5’s more recent hits include “Moves Like Jagger,” “Girls Like You,” and “Beautiful Mistakes.”

The pop-rock band has been around awhile, debuting in 2001 and releasing more than 30 singles since. As a solo artist, Levine has also gotten attention for “Harder to Breathe” and “Go Now.”

Since 2011, many of Levine’s fanbase faithfully watched him every week as one of The Voice’s judges. In May 2019, fans got some shocking news, however. The NBC judge decided to leave the show just before season 17 and was replaced by none other than Shelton’s fiance Gwen Stefani.

His relationship with Blake Shelton

Levine and Shelton have been close friends since becoming the original cast of The Voice together. They often had an on-screen ‘fued’ and threw playful jabs in each other’s direction — making for great entertainment and sparking obvious bromance that fans can’t get enough of.

Although the country singer calls Levine his ‘frenemy,’ they’re certainly more friends than enemies. That much can easily be seen through their social media exchanges where they call each other names and ‘talk trash’ about the other’s competing music — all in good fun, of course!

Since quitting The Voice, Levine has stayed close with his co-star country pal — telling People, “We keep in touch constantly. We’re always keeping tabs with each other — texting or FaceTime or however, we can do it.”

Has the power couple asked him to perform at their wedding?

As it turns out, although the almost-newlyweds haven’t asked ‘yet,’ Levine really wants to perform at his favorite couple’s highly anticipated wedding. In a conversation on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, the “Sugar” singer updates fans on the likelihood of that happening.

“No, they didn’t. [They] haven’t asked me yet,” the pop-rock singer said. “I would love to. First of all, I was just literally texting with them. I love them so much. Just so funny you mentioned them because I just texted them 10 minutes ago, just like, ‘I miss you guys. I love you guys.’ Yeah, they’re the best, dude. I would love to. I’d be honored.”

“They won’t ask me, though,” Levine added. “They’ll probably get, like, Luke Bryan or somebody.”

There’s no word on who the soon-to-be-married couple will ask to sing at their wedding, but Levine is right — Bryan is a contender. Bryan and Shelton have been friends for a long time, as well. Either way, we all know both superstars will at least be at the wedding alongside their longtime friend and his third marriage to Stefani.
