Though she is one of the biggest superstars on the planet, Adele has been committed to living a private and peaceful life. Though she has an Instagram account, she rarely posts updates. She’s also extremely protective of her young son, Angelo and the only personal information that the public gets from her is typically through her music.
Therefore, in April 2019, the world was stunned when the “Someone Like You” songstress pulled the plug on her marriage to businessman, Simon Konecki after they’d been together for seven years. The singer’s rep shared the news over Easter weekend stating, “Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.”
Since then, the singer has shared very little about the end of her marriage. However, there is a reason why she’s committed to keeping the details of her divorce super secret.
Adele and Simon Konecki grew apart
Though the “Hello” songstress has always been extremely private when it comes to her personal life, living life as an A-list celebrity certainly has it’s pitfalls. In the end, as Adele got increasingly more popular, she and Konecki have less and less in common.
“They had a lot in common early on, but eventually, they just grew apart,” an alleged insider told E! News in 2019. “She became a bigger and bigger star, and he was OK [with] being in the background, but as she got bigger and had massive tours and intense schedules, they just grew apart. Their marriage was clearly working for a very long time. Whenever she was out at big openings and special events, he was usually with her, and they looked really just happy together and in love. They were into the marriage pretty much until they decided this just isn’t working anymore.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Adele is worth an astounding $190 million. She and Konecki did not sign a prenuptial agreement when they wed. Therefore, though she already had her albums 19 and 21, prior to their marriage, she could have lost quite a large sum of money in her divorce.

It doesn’t matter who did what, or who contributed what,” Sandra Davis, a divorce attorney who represented Princess Diana of Wales told the U.K. Times. However, Adele could claim that her talent is a genius-level and her former partner would’ve gotten significantly less.
We do know that thus far the singer has transferred a California property into Konecki’s name which is reportedly worth $600,000.

Though she is officially divorced, the singer is reportedly keeping the terms of her divorce under wraps. The Los Angeles court has granted Adele’s ask to keep all of “financial, sales, or other confidential business information” sealed from the prying eyes of the public.
“Adele and Simon will share custody of their 7-year-old son, Angelo, and will continue to work out their issues and are committed to keeping the details as private as possible for the sake of their son,” The Sun is reporting.
Thankfully, it looks like the singer is more than ready for this next chapter in her life. People is reporting that Adele is currently feeling “perky as hell.”
