Adele shocked fans in late 2019 when photos started to surface of a stunning weight transformation. A year later — when she hosted Saturday Night Live and joked about her “different” appearance– the singer was the thinnest fans had ever seen her. Adele has managed to maintain her 100-pound weight loss ever since, and she’s done it without dieting. She does, however, rely on a go-to salad full of good-for-you ingredients.

Adele says she eats more than she used to

Despite losing so much weight, Adele insists she doesn’t restrict herself from her favorite foods. According to Eat This, Not That, the Hello singer made it clear that “if anything, I eat more than I used to because I work out so hard.”

She told British Vogue that hadn’t “done any diet.” But there have been rumors she may have followed the Sirtfood meal plan, which cuts out processed foods, sugar, full-fat dairy, and many starches. This would have been a significant change for the Grammy winner, who says she used to drink “ten cups of tea a day with two sugars each.”

“It was never about losing weight. It was always about becoming stronger and giving myself as much time every day without my phone. I got quite addicted to it,” Adele admitted.

Her go-to salad is filled with healthy ingredients

Food blogger The Modern Nonna recently shared her recipe for one of Adele’s favorite go-to salads featuring chopped kale with toasted walnuts and apples after reading an article about the singer.

“As you know I don’t follow celebrity news but I do enjoy and appreciate a good salad when I see one,” the blogger wrote. I don’t know how it was chopped or the exact measurements as it only listed the ingredients so I made it according to my taste buds,” the blogger wrote.

“The article didn’t mention honey in the dressing but I felt like it needed some sweetness to offset the tartness from the lemon.”

To make the salad, you’ll need five sprigs of kale (approximately four cups chopped), one finely diced celery stalk, a thinly diced apple, and eight toasted walnuts. The special sweet dressing calls for olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey, salt, and parsley.

Adele works out every day, and still enjoys a weekly cheat meal

In addition to eating healthy salads, Adele also hit the gym during her weight loss journey. For three years now, she’s been “doing rigorous weight-lifting and circuit-training sessions every day.”

“I work out two or three times a day,” Adele said. She starts her day with weights, then in the afternoon she boxes or goes on a hike. In the evening, the singer does cardio on the elliptical machine. With all of these healthy habits, Adele still makes time for a cheat meal once a week.
