In the season 4 premiere, Layla is grappling with the terrifying experience with Carrie (Anna Lore). In a series of flashbacks, Layla drives Carrie to a mountain cliff that overlooks LA. Carrie exits the car, saying that she wants the “pain to go away.” So, she attempts to jump over the cliff. Carrie assumes Layla feels the same way and urges her to join. But, Layla argues that she doesn’t feel that way. “That is not my life. That is not how I feel,” Layla says. “Yes, I’ve felt betrayal and abandonment, but you know what else I felt? Forgiveness and love and purpose and hope.”

Soon after, Layla convinces Carrie to step back from the ledge. She claims there is “hope” for Carrie, and she should seek help. Ultimately, Carrie steps away from the cliff and cries in Layla’s arms. After the terrifying ordeal, Carries admits she wants to go back to the Running Springs rehab facility.

Since then, Layla has not talked about her feelings. Eventually, she confides in Jordan and opens up to him. During their discussion, she realizes that she doesn’t feel safe living with her father. In turn, the Baker family accepts Layla into their home. Olivia (Samantha Logan) and Jordan create a fort out of pillows and blankets as a housewarming gift. The scene ends with the three friends sharing an embrace.

For now, it’s too early to tell. There has been no indication that one romantically likes the other. But, fans remain hopeful that a Jordan and Layla romance will finally happen in the new season. According to Screen Rant, the two will “see a lot more of each other” because of Layla’s living arrangements. So, fans will have to wait and see what happens in the season.
