In the All American spinoff series, actor Peyton Alex Smith will play Damon Sims. According to Deadline, Sims is a high school baseball player who lived on the south side of Chicago. But, he moved shortly after his Little League Team was involved in a controversial scandal. The traumatic event had a long-term effect on his life. While baseball was his true passion, it has become a job due to his mother-turned-manager. Now, Damon struggles with pursuing baseball as a professional career.

All American fans might not know the young actor also starred in another popular CW series called Legacies. Based on the hit teen dramas The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, this spinoff series follows a new generation of supernatural beings attending the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, founded by Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis).

When is the ‘All American’ spinoff series premiering on the CW?

According to Deadline, the All American spinoff will premiere on Feb. 21, 2022, on the CW at 9 PM. Written by All American showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll and directed by Michael Schultz, All American: Homecoming follows Simone Hicks (Geffri Maya), an aspiring tennis player from Beverly Hills, and a baseball prodigy named Damon Sims (Smith). As young college athletes, they try to navigate the “high stakes of college sports” while figuring out early adulthood at Bringston University. The series will showcase the HBCU experience.

The CW spinoff series ensemble cast includes Cory Hardrict (The Oath), Sylvester Powell (99 North), Netta Walker (Chicago Fire). Additionally, Kelly Jenrette plays Simone’s aunt and Journalism professor at Bringston University. All American fans might recognize the Emmy-nominated actor from the Hulu dystopian series The Handmaid’s Tale. She also made guest appearances in Fuller House and Mixed-ish. Meanwhile, Camille Hyde will star in the spinoff series. She played the Pink Ranger in Nickelodeon’s Power Rangers Dino Charge. In addition, Hyde portrayed Alexandra Cabot in The CW series Katy Keene and Riverdale.
