Lil Nas X released his full-length album ‘Montero’ in 2021

He released songs like “Holiday,” “Montero (Call Me By Your Name,)” and “Old Town Road.” Lil Nas X is a Grammy-nominated artist known for his groundbreaking representation regarding “black LGBTQ cowboy culture.” After months of anticipation, this artist released his full-length album, Montero.

As one of country/rap music’s biggest stars, Lil Nas X featured several other award-winning artists on his recently released album. A song released before Montero’s debut, “Industry Baby” featured artist Jack Harlow.

Other songs released exclusively in conjunction with this album featured other artists. “Scoop” features “Kiss Me More” and “Get Into It (Yuh)” singer Doja Cat. Since its release, “Scoop” earned over 20 million plays, making it one of the most popular Montero tracks.

The legendary artist Elton John previously recorded with artists like Lady Gaga and Rina Sawayama. For Montero, the artist appeared on the song “One of Me.” The hot girl coach herself, Megan Thee Stallion, appeared on one song for Lil Nas X’s album. That’s “Dolla Sign Slime.”

Miley Cyrus performed on the song “Am I Dreaming,” acting as a full-circle moment for Lil Nas X. This country star rose to fame with the “Old Town Road” remix featuring Billy Rae Cyrus, Miley Cyrus’ father. Miley also performed with Lil Nas X live. It only made sense to feature the “We Can’t Stop” artist on the final track of the album.

Lil Nas X collaborated with other artists for already released songs

This album wouldn’t be the first time Lil Nas X collaborated with other artists. In 2019, the singer released the “Seoul Town Road” remix featuring RM of the K-pop group BTS. The entire band joined Lil Nas X in his Grammy performance of this song. “Rodeo” off of Lil Nas X’s EP featured the rapper Cardi B.

During an interview with “The Breakfast Club,” Lil Nas X revealed two other artists he reached out to regarding his album. Either of them appeared on a Montero track, although there is still hope for the future.

“Nicki [Minaj] and Drake,” Lil Nas said around the interview’s nine-minute mark. “No reply from Nicki; Drake was still working [on Certified Lover Boy].”
