Since April 2022, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp have been battling it out in court after Depp accused Heard of defamation.

A lot of information about their 2-year marriage has come out during the trial, including one instance of Depp finding “fecal matter” on his bed. He has claimed that the poop belonged to Heard, but Heard recently went on record to deny it.

Johnny Depp accused Amber Heard of leaving ‘fecal matter’ on his bed

Just before Heard filed for divorce in the spring of 2016, Depp and Heard reportedly had a huge fight. Afterward, Depp said he left their home and went away to another residence he owns.

When Heard went off to Coachella, Depp decided to go back to the house and get his things. However, he was told by his bodyguard, Sean Bett, that it was not a good idea.

“I had received some news that was as absurd and grotesque and cruel, and then I was shown a picture of what the problem was,” Depp said during the trial. “I had gone to Mr. Bett and said, ‘She’s at Coachella. I think it’s a good time to go downtown so that I can get some of my things and get them out of there.’”

Depp added, “He said, ‘I don’t think now is a good time to go.’ I thought, ‘It’s the perfect time, she’s not going to be home for two days.’ Then, he showed me a photograph on his telephone.”

The photograph showed that “on my side of the bed was human fecal matter,” Depp said. According to the actor, when he brought this up to Heard, she blamed the poop on their dogs. However, Depp did not believe the dogs were capable of producing the poop based on their size.

Amber Heard continues to deny the ‘fecal matter’ was hers

When Heard recently took the stand, she testified that the “fecal matter” was not hers. She also addressed Depp’s chauffeur and bodyguard Starling Jenkins III’s claim that she had said it was “a horrible practical joke gone wrong.”

“First of all, I don’t think that’s funny,” Heard said (via NY Post). “I was not, also, in a pranking mood. My life was falling apart. I was at a crossroads in my life. I was really serious.”

She added, “And I had just been attacked on my 30th birthday by my violent husband with whom I was desperately in love and knew I needed to leave. It was not really a jovial time, and I don’t think that’s funny. Period. That’s disgusting.”

Heard also claimed that one of their dogs had had “bowel control issues” for a long time.

According to Heard, Depp had accused one of her friends of leaving the poop on the bed. She said, “I tried to point out how that didn’t make any sense. … My friends wouldn’t do that. That’s not something a bunch of 30-year-old women think is funny. What is he talking about?”

During the trial, Heard’s mental health has been brought into question.

Heard claims that she has post-traumatic stress disorder due to alleged abuse from Depp during their marriage. According to Variety, psychologist Dawn Hughes, who examined Heard for 29 hours, Heard’s claim of PTSD is valid. Hughes testified that Heard’s experience with Depp mirrored the abuse she dealt with in her own family.

“She also believed she could fix him, just like she tried to fix her father,” Hughes said. “She truly believed she could fix Mr. Depp and rid him of his substance abuse problems, but that did not work.”

However, Depp’s team also hired another psychology expert to evaluate Heard. According to psychologist Shannon Curry, Heard has borderline personality disorder as well as histrionic personality disorder.
