Magician Shin Lim won Season 13 of America’s Got Talent, which means he gets $1 million and the opportunity to headline the America’s Got Talent finalists show in Las Vegas. This obviously means that the magician already got a huge payday, but the show has a history of boosting people’s careers allowing them to make even more money. So how much could Shin Lim make after the show? Here are three things to consider.

1. Mat Franco, the first magician to win the show, has the net worth of $3 million

The best way to try to predict what will happen to Lim after the show is by looking at the first magician who won America’s Got Talent in 2014. He went on to perform nightly at the Linq Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in 2015 and he’s still there. Fans can watch his show by paying for tickets that start at $40.45. He also got a television special called “Mat Franco’s Got Magic.”

So things could go very well for Lim if he gets a show in Las Vegas. Chances are the reality show’s finalists show in Las Vegas could lead to just that.

2. Ventriloquist winner, Terry Fator reportedly signed a $100 million contract with The Mirage after the show

This is another good sign for Lim. Season 2 winner went on to make a lot of money by going to Las Vegas after the show. He reportedly signed a $100 million contract with The Mirage to perform until 2021 with his 16 puppets. In 2018, Forbes followed up on the ventriloquist and reported that he made 18.5 million in 2017 by staying in Las Vegas.

3. Not all winners have struck it big

So obviously some winners didn’t go on to be millionaires. Some people’s music after the show wasn’t well-received and several winners careers were ended due to health problems. Basically, there are a lot of things that are out of anyone’s control and up to chance.

So there is a chance that Shin Lim could go on to have a successful residency in Las Vegas that could lead to as much as $100 million. But there is also a chance that he won’t and could fade like other previous winners.
