In the third episode of And Just Like That…, the Sex and the City reboot, Bridget Moynahan reprised her role as Natasha. The return of Carrie Bradshaw’s season 3 nemesis delighted fans and injected a bit more of the original show’s vibe into the reboot. Now, Moynahan is dishing on her inclusion in the series and whether fans will see more from Natasha as the series progresses.

[Spoiler alert: Major storyline spoilers for And Just Like That… ahead]

Who was Natasha in ‘Sex and the City’?

Moynahan appeared in Sex and the City for the first time at the end of season 2. When Natasha was first introduced, she was Mr. Big’s girlfriend. As the series progressed, Mr. Big and Natasha got engaged and eventually married. Carrie and Natasha ran into each other several times during the couple’s short-lived marriage.

Carrie eventually began an affair with Mr. Bing in season 3 and only ended the liaison when Natasha caught her running out of the apartment she shared with her then-husband. The affair led to Mr. Big and Natasha’s divorce. She was seen once more in the original series before disappearing into Manhattan, although And Just Like That… suggested at least Charlotte had run into since the series finale.

Bridget Moynahan suggests Natasha’s storyline is over, at least for now, in ‘And Just Like That…’

Moynahan sat down with Elle to discuss her decision to reprise her role as Natasha and what it really means for the overall plot of the reboot. Moynahan told the publication that she didn’t know the larger context when filming the scene. She only received a script with her part but instantly knew it would be fun.

As for whether or not there is more to it, Moynahan isn’t giving anything away. In fact, she told the publication that it felt like a nice close for Natasha and Carrie. Their final scene, in an uptown coffee shop, certainly showed serious growth for both women. Natasha was able to admit that Mr. Big had always been in love with Carrie, and Carrie was finally able to apologize for everything that transpired between them.

Moynahan went on to say that she is open to the idea of returning, but she hasn’t been approached about it. Fans of the series still aren’t convinced that they’ve heard the last of Natasha, though.

Viewers think there is more to Natasha’s storyline, though

While Moynahan insists her time on And Just Like That… is over, fans of the reboot are not entirely convinced. While Mr. Big’s generous bequeath was explained away as a way for him to apologize for cheating on Natasha, a few hints suggest there is likely more going on behind the scenes.

Mr. Big never bothered to mention the bequeath to Carrie. It seems unlikely that Mr. Big wouldn’t have mentioned a simple apology inheritance somewhere along the way. In theory, Mr. Big kept Natasha’s inclusion in his will a secret for a reason, although that reason is unclear at the moment. The financier didn’t leave anything to his first ex-wife, Barbara. Big also cheated on her. So, an apology seems like an unlikely explanation.

Several fan theories regarding the bequest exist, but the most popular one suggests that Mr. Big and Natasha have a child together. The theory is bolstered by Natasha’s mention of her children and the secrecy surrounding Isaac Powell’s casting. Fans have several more episodes to figure out exactly what is going on. The first season of And Just Like That… includes 10 episodes.
