Anderson Cooper welcomes a baby boy

It was at the end of April when Cooper announced on social media and his CNN show that he had welcomed a baby boy.

“I want to share with you some joyful news,” he said. “On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is three days old. He is named after my father, who died when I was 10. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was.”

The TV journalist went on to explain how he named Wyatt.

“My son’s middle name is Morgan. It’s a family name on my mom’s side,” he continued. “I know my mom and dad liked the name Morgan because I recently found a list they made 52 years ago when they were trying to think of names for me. Wyatt Morgan Cooper. My son. He was 7.2 lbs at birth, and he is sweet, and soft, and healthy, and I am beyond happy.”

Andy Cohen’s son meets Anderson Cooper’s son

For Cooper’s first Father’s Day celebration, he made an appearance on the Bravo late-night show with his newborn son. And fans were able to witness the first time that Cohen’s son Ben met Cooper’s son Wyatt.

“I thought it would be fun if they met right now,” Cohen said while holding Ben. “Look, that’s going to be your good buddy Wyatt.”

The tender moment saw both fathers with their respective sons meeting each other for the first time. There was even a moment when Cooper held his baby like Rafiki did to Simba in The Lion King.

“Wyatt looks like a mini you, Anderson,” Cohen said.

Cooper noted that Wyatt’s outfit looked like a 1920s bathing suit.

“Ben, this is Wyatt,” Cohen told his son. “He’s going to be your good buddy. You’re going to travel together. … And if you like him half as much as I like his daddy, you’re going to be great friends.”

Fans can’t get enough of Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper as parents

As soon as the clip of the moment was shared on social media, fans couldn’t comment enough on the cuteness overload they had just witnessed. Reactions came pouring in, commenting on the sweet moment made possible by Bravo.

“You two should be together,” a fan said. “You are amazing together. The energy is off the rails. What a power couple you would be for your children who are gorge.”

“Oh my gosh! This is gorgeous,” a viewer added. “Anderson, many congratulations. Your constant kisses reminded me how I was when my son was a baby.”
