Animal Crossing: New Horizons players in the northern hemisphere have likely noticed some changes to their islands as they entered April. The grass has turned a bright green, and hardwood trees now sport light pink leaves. It’s a new spring month, which means the Nintendo game has a new wave of seasonal events to look forward to. That includes Bunny Day, the annual celebration coinciding with Easter, plus some others. Here are all the Animal Crossing events to expect in April.

‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ cherry blossom season 2022 start date

Firstly, fans should know those pink hardwood trees are more than just a pretty thing to look at. They represent the start of ACNH’s cherry blossom season in 2022, which starts on April 1 and lasts for 10 days. During this window, players will see pink petals floating through the air. The ones that float a little slower and look a bit more tangible can be caught with a net.

Cherry blossom petals are useful DIY ingredients that appear in several spring-themed items. In addition to collecting the petals, players should also pay close attention to the sky during cherry blossom season. A portion of the floating presents will hold cherry blossom DIY recipes, so keep a slingshot handy at all times.

Here are all the DIY items in the cherry blossom series, per Animal Crossing World:

  • Cherry Blossom Bonsai
  • Cherry Blossom Branches
  • Blossom-Viewing Lantern
  • Cherry Blossom Clock
  • Cherry Blossom Petal pile
  • Outdoor Picnic Set
  • Cherry Blossom Pochette
  • Cherry Blossom Pond Stone
  • Sakura Wood Floor
  • Cherry Blossom Umbrella
  • Cherry Blossom Flooring
  • Sakura Wood Wall
  • Cherry Blossom Trees Wall
  • Cherry Blossom Wand

It’s also worth noting that Young Spring Bamboo, which returned in March, is still in season. This ingredient found in bamboo trees can be used in various bamboo recipes.

Bunny Day and a fishing tourney return to ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ in April 2022

While Bunny Day itself isn’t until April 17, the festivities begin one week earlier, on April 10. On that day, Zipper T. Bunny will visit the islands to tell players about all the hidden eggs. Then, for the next week, eggs will spawn on trees (Leaf eggs), underground (Earth eggs), in the water (Water eggs), inside presents (Sky eggs), inside rocks (Stone eggs), and even inside tree trunks (Wood eggs).

Players will have to collect several eggs of each type to use in Bunny Day recipes. When Zipper returns on April 17, he’ll assign recipes to craft. There are nearly 30 recipes in total, including furniture and clothes, so fans should grab as many eggs as possible. Nook’s Cranny will also have some exclusive Bunny Day items during the week.

In addition to Bunny Day, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will hold another Fishing Tourney event on April 9. C.J. will host the tournament from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is a great way to rack up Nook Miles related to fishing, and the tournament offers exclusive rewards and trophies.
