Anna Duggar Returns to Instagram, Let’s Everyone Know She’s Still Happy in Her Marriage
Duggar family followers have been on the lookout for signs that Anna Duggar is going to leave her troubled husband, Joshua Duggar. The mother of seven stirred up some optimism among Duggar family followers when she was seen breaking modesty rules. Family followers have lost all hope. Anna recently returned to Instagram to post a story. In that story, she enthusiastically celebrated her marriage; followers just don’t get it.
Anna Duggar went quiet on Instagram following Josh Duggar’s arrest
A lot has happened in Anna Duggar’s world in the last 15 months. In April 2021, her husband, Josh Duggar, was arrested by federal agents on child pornography charges. In May 2021, he was released on bond but was not allowed to live in the home the couple shared. He was also forbidden from spending unsupervised time with his children. In October 2021, Anna gave birth to her seventh child.
By December 2021, a jury convicted Josh on both charges. On May 25, a federal judge sentenced Josh to 12 years and seven months behind bars. Through all of that, Anna shied almost entirely away from Instagram and Twitter. Before Josh’s arrest, she had been a fairly prolific poster. To be fair, she didn’t disappear completely. The mother of seven has returned a few times, but only briefly.
Anna recently returned to Instagram to celebrate her engagement anniversary
Anna Duggar returned to Instagram and Twitter to celebrate her engagement anniversary, in a move that many Duggar family followers are calling tone-deaf. In a recent Instagram Story, Anna noted that she said “YES!” to Josh Duggar 14 years ago. She went on to say that on this date, 14 years ago, she was “road-tripping to visit my bestie.” The “bestie” in question would be her husband. Anna posted the same message to her Twitter feed.
TLC featured Josh and Anna’s engagement on 19 Kids and Counting. Josh proposed to Anna at a restaurant in Florida on her 20th birthday. The couple then traveled back to Arkansas together with chaperones. They married three months later. While Anna has always claimed her marriage is a happy one, a family insider once claimed Jim Bob Duggar arranged the union. Jim Bob and Anna’s father, Mike Keller, allegedly set the couple up after Josh molested several of his sisters.
It is not the first time Anna Duggar’s Instagram posts have stirred controversy
While Duggar family followers were incensed to see Anna celebrating her engagement anniversary, despite Josh Duggar’s wrongdoings, it is far from the first time one of her posts has angered followers. In February 2022, Anna returned to Instagram and Twitter for a minute. She shared a link to a legal brief in her post, claiming there was “more to the story.”
The post came nearly two months after a jury convicted Josh on both child pornography charges. Family critics were quick to Drag Anna on both platforms. None of the Duggars bothered to interact with the post. Anna disappeared from the platforms just as quickly as she returned.
It’s hard to say whether Anna’s most recent return to social media is for good. This post could be another blip on the radar. Several Duggar family members have returned to posting as normal, though. Still, several others have opted to use the cancelation of Counting On as an opportunity to quietly exit the spotlight.
