Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey made such a lovely comedic duo on Saturday Night Live that many people wonder if the pair are actually married. Are their comedic acts the result of husband and wife bickering?

Let’s take a look at the personal lives of Jimmy Fallon and Tina Fey from Saturday Night Live to today.

Fallon and Fey both had their first big break by joining the hit comedy, late night show, Saturday Night Live in the late 90s. Fey started as writer, but later moved on to acting in skits. Fallon auditioned, and gained a role as a performer.

In 2000, Fallon and Fey were cast together as co-anchors of SNL’s parody news segment called SNL Weekend Update. Executive producer of SNL told Entertainment Weekly, “There’s chemistry, [between Fallon and Fey] and there was something to the sound of ‘Fallon and Fey.'”

By the time they left the show (Fallon in 2004 and Fey in 2006) the pair had become good friends. Years later, on his now successful late night show, The Tonight Show, Fallon told Fey what she meant to him.

“If you’re lucky throughout your life [you] get to meet and spend time with a few people who really change you for the better. Lucky for me, you’re one of those people …I know firsthand, you worked so hard and found a voice and found your way, and you made your own dreams come true, and most importantly even now you’re making other people feel like they can do the same thing and change the world. Today, I’m 27 years old and I have two daughters, and my hope for them is that they grow up to be leaders like you and that they’ll be as fearless and confident in their strengths as you are.”

Fallon ended his touching speech with, “I love you.”

Jimmy Fallon’s love life

Fallon married his wife, film producer Nancy Juvonen, in December 2007. They met on the set of the movie Fever Pitch. Fallon was staring opposite Drew Barrymore, for his second movie role and Juvonen was the producer.

He told the story of his marriage proposal (at sunset on the dock of Juvonen’s family home in New Hampshire) to People. “I went out to the dock and said [to myself], ‘Don’t cry. Let her cry first,’ I’m a pretty mushy guy… and I just wanted it to be perfect. I got down on one knee and I immediately [started weeping]. She’s like, ‘Are you having a stroke?’ My face was like I was smelling burnt toast. She said yes and we celebrated and it was fun,” he said. “The rest is history.”

The couple now have two daughters together, Winnie Rose, 5, and Frances Cole, 3.

Tina Fey’s love life

Fey met her husband, pianist Jeff Richmond, at Chicago’s Second City improvisational theatre troupe, where he was an in-house pianist, and many SNL stars got their start.

Richmond told The New York Post, “I’m the guy sitting there at the piano watching everybody audition, and Tina and Amy [Tina Fey and Amy Poehler] were among the very best,” he says. “We started hanging out offstage. Tina always made me laugh. She used to eat a lot of chocolate cake in those days, and she’d black up one of her teeth during conversation. It may be losing something in translation here, but it was very funny and very, very adorable.”

The couple married in 2001 and two daughters, Alice and Penelope Athena.
