Seth Rogen has just announced that he no longer plans to work with James Franco. This is due to the fact that multiple women have accused the actor of sexual misconduct. Rogen is adamant that he does not stand by his longtime friend’s behavior and therefore sees no future collaborations with Franco.

But their closeness over the years makes people wonder if they have remained friends throughout all of this turmoil.

Actor Charlyne Yi calls James Franco a ‘predator’ and Seth Rogen an ‘enabler’

Charlyne Yi tried to quit her role in The Disaster Artist once sexual misconduct allegations about Franco began to surface. The movie, which Franco stars in and directs, has Rogen both producing and acting in the film.

According to Insider, she tried to “break legal contract,” yet the filmmakers offered her a bigger role in the film in an attempt to bribe her. She responded by saying, “I cried and told them that that was the exact opposite of what I wanted. That I didn’t feel safe working with a f—ing sexual predator.”

“They minimized and said Franco being a predator was so last year and that he changed,” she continues, “when I literally heard of him abusing new women that week.”

“Enablers are just as toxic and are abusers, too,” she continued, referring to Rogen. “Seth Rogen was one of the producers on this film, so he definitely knows about the bribe and why I quit.”

After Yi’s comments surfaced, Rogen announced that he no longer sees a future with Franco. When asked to comment on Yi’s accusations, Rogen responded (via USA Today.)
“What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment, and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that… I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now.”

As for whether or not their friendship still stands? Rogen is uncertain at this point.
“I don’t know if I can define that right now during this interview,” said Rogen. “I can say it, um, you know, it has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic.”

When asked if the tearing of their ties was painful, Rogen said, “Yeah. But not as painful and difficult as it is for a lot of other people involved. I have no pity for myself in this situation.”
