For singer Ariana Grande, she’s not just a part of pop culture: She also loves to indulge in it. Though Grande doesn’t act much herself these days, she’s been watching a lot of popular TV shows and films, including those in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Though we’re still months away from Black Widow kicking off Phase 4, the pop star is enjoying catching up on the franchise’s vast canon. Here’s what we’ve learned about her as a fan of the MCU, including her possible favorite Avenger.

Ariana Grande loves TV and movies

Unlike some celebrities, Grande is very open with her fans. While she kept her relationship with Dalton Gomez under wraps for months, she’s happy to share with her millions of Instagram and Twitter followers other details about her life, including her love of pop culture.

In October 2019, Grande threw a The Twilight Zone-themed Halloween party. Leading up to it, she shared clips from the original series. She even dressed as a character from a famous episode. Grande also loves the film Midsommar. She’s friendly with star Florence Pugh, and her 27th birthday was Midsommar-themed (above).

Grande has been on a Disney kick lately

Grande isn’t just into horror and sci-fi. As someone who grew up performing in musicals, there’s no doubt they would appeal to her. And though she got her start in TV on Nickelodeon, not Disney, Grande seems to have a love of Disney animated classics — and one in particular.

In April 2020, she performed “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” from Hercules for The Disney Family Singalong. And she went all out, singing the parts of Megara and all of the Muses. She even edited it all together herself. Fans were so impressed with the performance they called for her to be cast in the film’s upcoming live-action adaptation.

Her latest viewing included MCU movies

Grande’s now moved on from Disney animated classics to the MCU. On July 8, 2020, she shared a photo and videos of one of her many rescue dogs, Coco, on Instagram (above). In the first video, Coco is stretching, and the TV is briefly shown and heard. In the photo, Coco is yawning in front of an image of Bucky Barnes from Captain America: Civil War.

Finally, the third slide is a video from just a few minutes later in the film. As Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, talks to Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), Coco chews on her foot. She freezes, and Grande zooms in on her, laughing. It’s no wonder she captioned this post, “third slide is really wild.”

Grande previously hinted that she was watching the MCU films with the above post. The lights on the ceiling are positioned like Mickey Mouse ears by her head, only they resemble Tony’s arc reactor. So, fittingly, she captioned it, “tony mf stark ears.”

In addition to the many fans chiming in, Grande’s mom, Joan Grande, wrote, “I love Tony stark, I love that you love Tony stark, I love that this is a real thing now and I really really love you… #IronMan.” If anything can be gleaned from this, it’s that the Grande family are major fans of Iron Man and the MCU in general.
