Eren and Zeke have spent the majority of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 attempting to reconnect with one another. That’s a necessary part of their plan to use Zeke’s royal blood and Eren’s Founding Titan to euthanize all Eldians. Of course, Eren reveals at the end of “Two Brothers” that he never actually intended to go through with that idea.

Unfortunately for him, Zeke appears to have gained some control over the Founder Ymir. And now both characters are stuck in a place called the Paths, where Eren is currently in chains.

Zeke intends to use his power over Ymir to enact his plan with or without his younger brother. But the preview for Attack on Titan Episode 79 suggests he and Eren will face more revelations before he begins.

The preview for ‘Attack on Titan’ Episode 79 promises ‘the truth’

Attack on Titan Episode 79 is dubbed “Memories of the Future,” and it’s likely to take Eren and Zeke on a journey through time. The preview for the anime’s next installment promises the two brothers will “learn the truth” while they’re in the Paths.

It’s not entirely clear what they’ll uncover, but the appearance of Frieda Reiss suggests the royal family will play a role. The preview also shows an old picture of Grisha Jaeger. Could the boys be journeying back to when their father inherited the Founding Titan?

It looks like they’ll also get a glimpse of Eren’s childhood, as the first look at Attack on Titan Episode 79 shows Eren and Armin as children. Whatever Zeke and Eren discover, it’s likely to tie all the events of the anime together somehow. Perhaps the answers the two characters have been searching for were hidden in the past all along.
