Attack on Titan Episode 85 sees the alliance of Scouts and Marleyan soldiers trying to reach the Azumabito’s flying ship without provoking the Jaegerists. Unfortunately, that proves a fruitless endeavor.

Although Armin and Connie pretend they’re on Floch’s side, he’s suspicious from the jump. And once Mikasa swoops in to save her distant relatives, a fight breaks out. It nixes any chance of the alliance escaping peacefully.

This forces Armin and Connie to kill their former comrades, a devastating decision that’s difficult to watch. But although the fight with the Jaegerists is heartbreaking for the Scouts, it does lead to one amazing team-up.

‘Attack on Titan’ Episode 85 delived 1 of the coolest team-ups

Mikasa, Armin, and Connie are forced to fight their former comrades in Attack on Titan Episode 85, but they stand no chance without a trump card. That comes in the form of Annie and Reiner, two characters Floch isn’t expecting to show up and wreak havoc on the port.

Although Annie and Reiner worked together early in the series, fans haven’t seen this duo fight side by side before. If nothing else, they certainly know how to make an entrance. Their transformations into the Female and Armored Titans will leave viewers cheering. Who would have thought we’d be rooting for these two just one season ago?

And Annie and Reiner don’t pull their punches when taking on the Jaegerists. There’s no shortage of impressive fight sequences in Attack on Titan Season 4, and this scene adds to that count. But will it be enough to stop Eren?

Will the alliance catch up to Eren before the Rumbling is complete?

‘Attack on Titan’ Season 4 May Present Mikasa Ackerman With an Impossible Decision

Annie and Reiner might have saved the day in Attack on Titan Episode 85, but will they stop Eren from completing the Rumbling? The more time the alliance wastes fighting the Jaegerists, the further the Wall Titans advance. If they don’t hurry and get the airship running, they’ll be too late to save the world.

Hopefully, Floch doesn’t have too many reinforcements to further stall the alliance’s efforts. With just two episodes of season 4 part 2 left, things are really starting to heat up. It’s anyone’s guess how this outing ends.

New episodes of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 drop every Sunday on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
