Axl Rose: How Much is the Guns N’ Roses Singer Worth?

Axl Rose has been an unstoppable force ever since he founded Guns N’ Roses, forging a compelling blend of punk, metal, and classic rock into a sound all his own.

With hits like “Sweet Child of Mine” and “Welcome To the Jungle,” Guns N’ Roses carved out a devoted fanbase that withstood the riots, late and incomplete concert appearances, and turmoil between band members that threatened to derail the band’s success.

Rose and his bandmates were eventually inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, although Rose did not attend the induction. Guns N’ Roses is still touring today and Rose’s net worth may surprise you.

Founding one of the most successful rock bands of all time definitely comes with its perks. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Axl Rose is worth $200 million as of 2018, putting him nearly on par with modern day superstar Kanye West.

Unlike many of today’s musicians, who make money from acting and endorsement deals, most of Rose’s earnings are from album sales and touring. Rose doesn’t just earn money as the lead vocalist of Guns N’ Roses, however.

You might be surprised to learn that Rose is also the touring singer of another popular rock band these days.

How much has Axl Rose earned from album sales?

Appetite for Destruction, the 1987 debut album from Guns N’ Roses sold over 30 million copies worldwide and peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 200. How much did Axl Rose earn from ‘Chinese Democracy’?

After the original band members went their separate ways, Rose retained the Guns N’ Roses moniker and set to work assembling a new lineup for the band. The new Guns N’ Roses lineup appeared at the Rock in Rio 3 in 2001.

The highly anticipated Chinese Democracy was finally released in 2008, selling 6.5 million copies and earning Rose $6.5 million. The accompanying tour, which stretched from 2001 to 2011 earned the band more than $4 million.

Guns N’ Roses Reunion

In 2016, Rose and his original bandmates announced that they would be reuniting for the Not In This Lifetime Tour. The tour, which began in April 2016 and ended in September 2017, included performances in Las Vegas, Coachella, and Mexico City.

The Not In This Lifetime Tour marked the first time in 23 years that Rose had performed with the original Guns N’ Roses lineup. The tour earned the band more than $200 million.

Rose teamed up with guitarist Angus Young and the surviving members of AC/DC to tour in 2016, when lead singer Brian Johnson retired due to hearing loss. The amount of money Rose has earned during his tenure with AC/DC is unknown, but it has been called an “enormous triumph” by Alternative Nation.

Axl Rose is still touring

Rose continues to tour as the lead vocalist of both AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses to this day. According to NME, Rose will continue to tour with AC/DC and the band is set to release new music in the near future.

Meanwhile, Rose and his original Guns N’ Roses bandmates have revived their Not In This Lifetime Tour and are currently performing overseas, with stops in South Africa and Hawaii remaining.
