Below Deck season 7 has quite a few returning charter guests. Previews tease that one of the show’s favorite returning guests is the Jasuwan family and their adorable children Pearson and Tiernan.

When the family traveled to Tahiti, chief stew Kate Chastain and second stew Josiah Carter lovingly gave the children nicknames, Master Pearson and Lady Tiernan. The well-behaved children dined on fine cuisine and went with the flow of yachting like pros. However, their voyage last season wasn’t without some bumps and bruises. After stew Caroline Bedol accidentally dropped some champagne flutes on the deck and the glass shattered, Pearson stepped on the glass and cut his foot.

Also, bosun Chandler Brooks was carrying guests from the tender to land for a beach picnic. He placed one of the guests on a slippery rock and she hit the ground hard. The family was gracious, despite the injuries, but bosun Ashton Pienaar was determined not to repeat last year’s incidents.

Rocks and waves (again)

Pienaar knew this family sustained injuries last season, so he was determined to avoid having the same thing happen again. In a preview clip, he is seen in the tender approaching a beach along with some of the guests. The waves are crashing against the rocks as the wind picks up.

“Guys I’m just not comfortable with the way that the waves are crashing onto the sand, especially with the kids,” he says. “So I’m sorry I teased you with a beach excursion, but we’re not going to be able to do it.” One of the male guests is heard saying, “Oh, come on!”

But one of the female guests says Pienaar is thinking about safety, especially for the kids. Pienaar reiterates he’s not comfortable with the possibility the boat could crash against the rocks.

He wants to avoid an accident but now what?

“This season we’ve already dealt with some injuries around the changing of tides,” he says in a confessional. “And I’ve got a narrow approach with a strong current coming in and crashing waves onto rocks. And given what happened to them last season, I cannot have any injuries or they will pack their bags and it’s not a risk I’m willing to take.”

Pienaar returns to Valor with the guests. He radios Captain Lee Rosbach with his findings and Rosbach agrees if the waters are too dangerous he has to call it off. Primary guest Torrie Jasuwan sees the boat returning and wonders why they aren’t on the beach. Plus, Chastain seems pained when she learns the picnic is being canceled. “This beach party was on the preference sheet, all of the guests were very excited about it,” Chastain says in a confessional. “So canceling the beach party is kind of a big deal.”

Jasuwan says, “You can’t go on the beach? Why?” She learns it is too rough to risk. “Oh no,” she replies. Pienaar apologizes but that means Chastain and the interior team likely have to scramble. Find out what happens on Below Deck, every Monday at 9/8 central on Bravo.
