Deckhand Bobby Giancola recently revealed that Captain Sandy Yawn watched Below Deck Mediterranean Season 1 and didn’t like what she saw from Giancola. When she took over as the captain on season 2, she was leery of Giancola, believing that he wasn’t a very positive person with regard to his treatment of deckhand Danny Zureikat. Did they ever resolve their differences while filming the show?

Why didn’t Captain Sandy from ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ like Bobby Giancola?

Giancola recently discussed what viewers see on reality television isn’t always what may be going on behind the scenes. He knew he came off a little harsh so he kicked off season 2 by getting the deck team a gift. “On deck, I got us all the little zippy things for your sunglasses,” he recalled on the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Instagram Pita Party. “So I got everyone a pair of those. Like, hey I just wanna thank you guys. Because I didn’t know …”

“Because, Sandy didn’t like me,” he asserted. “And I was like what the heck, what’s going on? So we would butt heads for a while. Well, then production actually went to her and were like why are you so hard on Bobby right now? ‘Oh, I didn’t like him on season 1.’ And so after that once production kind of vouched for me, and were like, trust me, Bobby is cool. Like what you saw obviously there was a lot of drama on my first season between Danny and I primarily. So after that she was super cool.”

He added that Yawn even apologized to him after they finished filming. “Like I’m so sorry I judged you, for the first season” he recalled Yawn telling him. “And then we’ve been awesome ever since.”

Bobby Giancola and Hannah Ferrier from ‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ no longer speak

Giancola said he’s been awesome with just about every other cast member but one. While he and former chief stew Hannah Ferrier don’t have a specific beef with each other anymore, they don’t speak either. “Yeah, we’re not on speaking terms,” he said about Ferrier. “Just from all our drama that happened. It was too much for me. Like now if I saw her, it’s water under the bridge. I do not care at all anymore.”

“But I was burned pretty bad,” he continued. “I’ll forgive but I won’t forget. So yeah, we don’t talk.”

But would Hannah Ferrier and Bobby Giancola work together again on ‘Below Deck Med’?

They may no longer speak, but Ferrier recently replied, “yes please” to a fan crew lineup that included Giancola. So why did they fight to begin with? “The argument stemmed from Bobby believing I had dissed him to Lauren [Cohen] in New York – when I hadn’t,” Ferrier told Bravo’s The Daily Dish in 2017. “He didn’t have the decency to approach me and discuss it. Instead, he waited, and when Malia made a joke with him, he lost his cool and started an argument with me. At the time, I genuinely had absolutely no idea what he was talking about.”

Giancola referred to Ferrier as being an alcoholic, which (of course) Ferrier did not appreciate. “I think that’s just an immature boy lashing out and trying to hurt someone by name-calling,” she said.
