Lauren Cohen from 'Below Deck Mediterranean' is working for Jennifer Lopez and former 'Below Deck' crew members are cheering her on. Chef Ben and Kate Chastain said they are happy for her, but how do they all know each other?

Lauren Cohen from Below Deck Mediterranean was spotted with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck on a shopping trip in Italy and Below Deck crew members couldn’t be happier she landed the new gig. Fans spotted Cohen in TikTok someone shared of Lopez and Affleck, eyeing Cohen who followed behind the couple. Below Deck crew members, Kate Chastain and chef Ben Robinson couldn’t help but comment, both sharing they can see she’s doing well in her career.

Kate Chastain and Chef Ben from ‘Below Deck’ said they are happy for Lauren Cohen

Chastain said she likes Cohen even though they were never on the show together. “I really love Lauren Cohen,” she told US Weekly. “Actually, I met her through Chef Ben a few years ago and she’s lovely. I’m so happy for her. She really is. I can see her doing very well at that job.”

“I’m happy for her. She’s a good girl,” Robinson said. Both Chastain and Robinson had their own experiences working for famous people. “Kate’s had Leo [DiCaprio]. Good, old Leo,” Robinson said.

“He’s very handsome. Doesn’t talk a lot. Very quiet,” Chastain recalled from her experience, which was about a decade ago. “I’m sure he was drinking wine at the time. He just came over for a dinner with the yacht owners. They met him out on St. Bart’s and invited him on for one dinner and he came. He was polite.”

Kate Chastain said most celebrities can’t afford to buy a yacht

Celebrities are not really the yacht owners,” Chastain said during a Build appearance in 2019. “They can’t afford it. We’re talking about people who invented Google. Like billionaires, you’ve never heard of and you’ll never be able to Google them. Because they invented Google and they can make sure they’re not on Google.”

But added, “They like to have celebrity friends come on board and that always made it a little more exciting.” That’s when she went into detail about working on a yacht when DiCaprio was a guest. “He’s very beautiful in person,” she recalled. She also teased working on a yacht with some “really famous people from the E! network,” one who was dating a rapper.

Does Chef Ben know Lauren Cohen from ‘Below Deck Med’?

Chastain noted she met Cohen through Robinson. Robinson and Cohen actually dated in the past. Deckhand Bobby Giancola brought up her romance with Robinson on the show when he told her to “go f–k Ben.” Viewers were confused because Robinson was dating Emily Warburton-Adams at the time. “Hey guys I know this was slightly confusing,” he tweeted. “[Warburton-Adams] and I were taking a hiatus…@LaurenBelowDeck, we became friends. She’s great. Cheers.”

Cohen explained to Bravo how she and Robinson met. “Before I decided to join Sirocco, I had met Ben out in Fort Lauderdale and we began seriously dating over time,” she said in 2017. “When I made the decision to do a season in the Med, Ben and I mutually decided it would be best for me to do the season single. We still remained friends and spoke frequently throughout the season.”
