Below Deck Sailing Yacht ratings have been as topsy turvy as heeling over on a sailing yacht. The show launched with significant fanfare and optimism on the heels of one of the darkest seasons of Below Deck.

Viewers were ready for a fresh new spin on the series and were excited to see that crossover cast member chef Adam Glick was going to be part of the cast. While fans were engaged during the first episode, their enthusiasm waned with several sharing that they weren’t into the vibe.

“I’ve truly never been this BORED watching a Below Deck episode. Damn,” one person tweeted after a recent episode. Another person tweeted early in the season, “Does anybody else think #BelowDeckSailingYacht is ….. boring?” Ratings have been on the anemic side, especially for the robust series. However, are the tides changing and are more people tuning in?

The latest episode hit a season-high

The last group of charter guests certainly brought the drama. The all-guy group from Long Island were loud, brash and constantly on the search for ladies. One guest thought it was funny to lift second stew Madison Stalker from her feet as she begged him to put her down. She looked shaken after the incident.

The guys also partied until dawn, bringing a DJ and additional guests on the yacht. They also provided significant levity for viewers. One guest insisted he didn’t want to get his linen pants wet upon disembarking from the tender. But ended up face planting in the water when he tried to hop back on the small boat.

The group created significant controversy. Stalker was clearly not comfortable with the guest who insisted on lifting her. But Stalker, along with deckhand Parker McCown and stew Georgia Grobler made friends with the gang. They dined at one of the guest’s homes after appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. This generated considerable buzz with fans.

Ratings are on the upswing

Comments were mixed with some people tiring of the romantic relationship between chief stew Jenna MacGillivary and Glick. One person added that the coronavirus quarantine may have created the perfect environment for viewers to finally get into the sailing show.

Bravo Ratings tweeted, “#BelowDeckSailing S01E07 – 1.140 million viewers (0.39 18-49 demo).” Someone wondered, “What is below deck sailing season high so far?” Bravo Ratings replied with the numbers from the series premiere. “S01E01 – 1.293 million viewers (0.42 18-49 demo).” Ironically, one person snarked on the initial tweet, “*season high* ” as someone else added, “I hope it gets better and better!”
