Kate Chastain from Below Deck was put in the hot seat during the Watch What Happens Live After Show. A caller wanted to know which crew member was her all-time most and least favorite. Plus she had to answer why she chose the crew members.

Chastain has appeared in five out of the six seasons of Below Deck so she has a wide variety of crew members ripe for the choosing. She managed to narrow down her list to two people–her most and least favorite—but her answers were a little surprising.

She’s had some intense altercations with several crew members in the past. Plus Chastain shared what fans perceived as a very special friendship with one particular crew member too. So who made her top two?

She’d probably never want to work with this crew member again

Without much hesitation, Chastain said Chef Leon Walker (from season three) was her least favorite crew member. “I’d say my least favorite is Chef Leon just because he had a combative attitude at all time,” Chastain said on the After Show.

Walker and Chastain had a contentious working relationship where Walker often seemed annoyed and frustrated with Chastain. Chastain chalked his anger up to being a green yachtie as she pointed out Walker came from the cruise ship environment. The two often had a heated exchange during service, which left both crew members feeling angry.

Ultimately, Walker was fired after a fire started in the oven of the galley kitchen. He tried to pin it on Chastain since he was asleep in his bunk when the fire broke out. But an investigation showed dirty pans left inside the oven was the main culprit, which fell on Walker’s shoulders. But even after Walker left, the two continued to war on Twitter.

He may be her forever favorite

Chastain had a number of favorites from her years on the show. She hung out with deckhand Connie Arias long after the show wrapped. Plus, she and second stew Josiah Carter appeared to have a very close bond.

But Chastain said her favorite of all time was Chef Ben Robinson. “My favorite is probably Ben,” Chastain said shrugging. But she hilariously admits, “And that might be because we had sex.” Robinson and Chastain often seemed to be hot and cold on charter. At one point, Robinson even told Chastain he didn’t like working with her but would rather just be friends.

Last summer Chastain said she and Robinson used to be best friends. But that friendship has since cooled even though they keep in touch. “I think for me, there’s been too many repeated instances where he did something selfish. I think Ben makes most of his decisions based on how it would benefit him.” She added if they hang out, they always have fun. But their friendship was on the “back burner.”
