On June 22, The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever is taking fans through Ben Higgins’ dramatic season. The Colorado native fell in love with two women — Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher. But who did Higgins pick on The Bachelor Season 20? Here’s everything that happened in the final moments of the season — and beyond.

Ben Higgins picked Lauren Bushnell over JoJo Fletcher on ‘The Bachelor’ Season 20

In The Bachelor Season 20, Higgins fell in love with Bushnell and Fletcher. He then infamously told both women about his feelings. Of course, the former bachelor only chose one woman in the end. But even now, Higgins doesn’t necessarily regret dropping the L-word to Bushnell and Fletcher.

“I don’t know if regret would be the right word,” Higgins told Us Weekly in June 2020. “It’s how I felt, which is messed up, and not great when you then break up and propose to somebody in the same day. I think at the time I was naive enough to think that it was a way to reassure them, when they left, that this was the real deal, that I really did care about them both.”

Regardless, Higgins moved on and picked Bushnell over Fletcher in The Bachelor finale. He then proceeded to propose.

“Lauren, I never want to say goodbye to you,” Higgins said at the time. “I want to wake up every morning and kiss you on the face. I want to go to bed at night and know that in the morning I’m gonna wake up to the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. My desire from here on out is to live for you, commit to you, love you, hold you, and kiss you a lot. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Now, Higgins and Bushnell are no longer together. A year after The Bachelor wrapped its finale in March 2016, the couple announced their breakup.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways,” Higgins and Bushnell wrote in a statement to People. “We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”

Higgins and Bushnell have since moved on from their breakup. Bushnell married country singer Chris Lane in October 2019. Higgins is also engaged to Jessica Clarke. And while it seems there’s no bad blood between the two, Higgins and Bushnell aren’t super close nowadays.

“We’re friendly, Higgins told Life & Style Magazine back in March 2019. “We don’t talk often, but I wish her nothing but happiness.”

Then in an interview with Us Weekly published in June 2020, Higgins revealed he hasn’t spoken to Bushnell about The Bachelor: The Greatest Seasons — Ever

“We haven’t talked [about the show re-airing]. She’s married. I’m happy for her, and she found her partner,” Higgins said. The former bachelor then added he would love to take a call from his ex about the recap episode. But, Higgins doesn’t think he’s “needed in this moment for her.”

Meanwhile, Fletcher was named The Bachelorette for season 12. She met and got engaged to her final rose pick, Jordan Rodgers. She also remains friends with Higgins today.

“JoJo and I are good friends. I have a lot of respect for her and Jordan,” Higgins said in the above interview with Us Weekly. “I actually saw her in the airport last year. It was awesome to see her and Jordan together. But we don’t keep in close contact. I think just because for me, and probably for them, it wouldn’t be healthy. It’s not smart.”
