How did Beth Chapman die?

Beth Chapman died on June 26, 2019, at the age of 51. Her cause of death was throat cancer. Beth had been placed in a medically induced coma after reportedly experiencing complications. She was first diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in 2017.

Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth Chapman’s rise to fame

Beth and her husband were the stars of the hit A&E reality show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, which documented their family-owned bounty hunting business. The show aired from August 2004 to June 2012. Despite her cancer battle, Beth agreed to film the new WGN series Dog’s Most Wanted alongside her husband. It was supposed to air this fall, but at this time it’s not clear if the show will still go on.

Beth was Dog’s fifth wife. They first met when Beth had a brush with the law and Dog was called to help her. They later married and divorced different people but reunited and began dating. The couple blended their family and then had two children of their own named Bonnie and Garry. Beth and Dog tied the knot in 2006.

Beth says she needed Dog’s help when she was accused of shoplifting from a grocery store. Dog assisted her, and then Beth came down to his office to do the paperwork. Here’s what Beth had to say in an interview with A&E:

I go sauntering in there, and I’m waiting, and all of a sudden, this blond bombshell comes walking out from this back room, dressed in black, all studded out, with this long, wavy blond hair. And I thought, ‘Oh yes, he will be mine. Let the stalking begin now.’ But I knew on that day that the only way I was going to win this man’s heart was if I could somehow try to figure out how to spend time with him so he could get to know me.

So, I immediately went down and took the bail bonds test and became a bail bondsman. Because I knew that if I wrote a whole bunch of bad bail, that the bounty hunter would have to come and sit in my office so he could go and chase my fugitives. So, I proceeded to write the worst bail there was. ‘No collateral, no co-signer? Sure, come on down. Don’t have any money? Great. You have a pulse, right?’ So, I wrote all this bad bail so I could spend more time with him, and it worked.
