The businesswoman announced that she decided to leave RHONY for a second time. She also revealed her TV plans for the future.

“I have decided to leave the Housewives franchise to explore my next chapter. It’s time to move on and focus on my daughter, my philanthropy and my production partnership with Mark Burnett, producing and starring in shows which represent a shift in the conversation for women,” claimed the statement, according to Variety.

“With the changes in modern culture, I want to highlight the strength, confidence and unstoppable power that women have. My experience at Bravo has been an incredibly magical ride,” the statement continued. “I am so grateful to them for highlighting my entrepreneurialism and allowing me to pave the way for many women to achieve their goals. I am excited for my future. The best is yet to come.”

‘RHONY’ started with the cast’s reactions to her leaving

Season 12 opened with the remaining cast members’ reaction to the news that Frankel was leaving again. “This is ridiculous,” said Luann de Lesseps as she looked at her phone. “I mean this is huge,” said Sonja Morgan who was also looking at her phone.

Ramona Singer was on a call with Tinsley Mortimer and asked her if Frankel told her anything about leaving. Mortimer said, “She never said anything about maybe not being back.” Singer then said, “To me, that’s an F.U. I’m sorry it’s an F.U.”

Singer was then asked in her interview what she thinks about Frankel leaving. “I don’t know why we have to even acknowledge it. It’s so stupid,” she said.

Everyone else didn’t feel the same way. Dorinda Medley said she felt like crying about the news. Morgan said she felt “abandoned all over again.”

Frankel said the show was like a middle finger to her

Frankel might have made the decision to leave, but she wasn’t happy about how the cast members reacted to it. She shared her thoughts with Extra,

“The beginning of the show was the proverbial middle finger to me,” she said. “The women have definitely had some unpleasant things to say about me … I wish them well.”

She went on to talk about her new HBO Max reality show, The Big Shot. Frankel said she hopes it will teach viewers how to “unconventionally become an entrepreneur.”

“I think it will be so important because there’s such a massive unemployment rate right now and I want to be able to provide a place for people after this,” she said. The new show is slated for May.
