The anticipation for Better Call Saul Season 6 has grown even stronger following an update from Tony Dalton. Unfortunately the show, which tells the story of Breaking Bad “criminal” attorney Saul Goodman, was delayed by circumstances related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. But it is indeed in the works.

Fans are expecting this last season to tie up questions left hanging in the latest episode and to reveal the fate of certain characters, notably including Kim Wexler. While the Better Call Saul cast has kept their comments to a minimum, Dalton has teased really exciting things in this next round of episodes.

Tony Dalton’s ‘Better Call Saul’ character narrowly escaped death last season

Dalton stars on Better Call Saul as Lalo Salamanca, a member of the cartel. In the latest season, he traveled with Nacho Varga to his family’s compound in Mexico, not realizing Gus Fring has ordered a hit on him. Nacho was instructed to help by unlocking a gate to allow the assassins in one night, but he was surprised to find Lalo was still awake when the time came.

Pressed for time, he created a distraction, unlocked the gate, and fled. However, in a surprise twist, Lalo survived the attack. After faking a report that he was killed in the ambush, Lalo was last seen walking away, leaving behind many dead relatives, with a look of revenge plastered across his face.

Dalton on ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 6

As filming continues, Dalton spoke about the upcoming season in an interview with Collider. He kept his comments brief, but he did give the show plenty of praise. “You have no idea what’s going to happen,” he shared. “It’s out of control what these guys wrote. Out of control.”

Dalton may not have shared details, but he said in a previous with Entertainment Weekly that Nacho should be “really” afraid of what Lalo might do next. “I think he’s dead! He should be really scared,” he said.

He continued: “I don’t know what these guys are going to come up with, but I will tell you one thing, which is one of the great things about this show and the writers is that you don’t know what’s going to happen. A lot of these shows, you’re like, ‘Oh, I know. This guy is going to die,’ or something like that. Here, they really throw curveballs at you. So I have no idea what to expect, but I know it will be great.”
