‘Better Call Saul’ Season 5 is on its way to Netflix

Released in February of 2020, Better Call Saul Season 5 continued to follow Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) after his brother Chuck’s death. The loss greatly affected him and was one of the main factors that led to his further transformation as “criminal” attorney Saul Goodman. The season garnered critical acclaim from viewers and set the bar high for the next season of the show.

Unfortunately, there have been limited watch options. But those who haven’t seen it will finally be able to start in April when it hits Netflix.

The show to conclude after its next season

The Netflix release will come exactly two weeks before the return of Better Call Saul, which is heading into its sixth and final season. The show was renewed for another season in January of 2020 but, like countless other shows, it was delayed because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Fortunately, filming was finally able to begin in March of 2021 and finished in February.

Odenkirk celebrated the moment on Twitter.

“Yesterday an amazing crew of people finished shooting Better Call Saul in Albuquerque, NM,” he wrote in the post. “It began in 2014, with great writing always leading the charge, and despite challenges of all kinds, our energy and care never flagged. I am honored to have been part of it.”

While plot details are limited, he previously said he thought there might be a “lot of violence” in season 6.

“I’m finding out script by script [how the season goes],” he said in an earlier interview with Collider. “I’m told that the wheels come off in Season 6 and it explodes in a million directions. That sounds to me like there’s a fair amount of violence, but I don’t know for a fact.”

Of course, he now knows what’s ahead, but he’s kept his comments to a minimum to prevent any spoilers. He would only tell Empire that there’s an “amazing” ending in store for fans.
