One of the biggest questions hovering over the series is what Lalo Salamanca will do now that knows Nacho Varga has betrayed him. It seems certain that he’ll want revenge, leaving Nacho scrambling even more for a way out. Teasing more about the sixth season, the Better Call Saul Twitter page has shared a post hinting at the upcoming drama between Lalo and Nacho.

A quick recap of what happened between Lalo and Nacho in ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 5

Fans will recall that Nacho was tapped to help Gus Fring orchestrate an assassination on Lalo. Told to unlock a back door at a family home where they were staying, Nacho created a distraction and fled the compound after allowing the shooters inside.

Lalo was able to get away through an underground tunnel but not before taking out most of the men. He later circled back to finish them off, including one shooter who claimed he didn’t know the man behind the job. But Lalo assured him he already knew the answer, tellingly looking over at the table where he and Nacho had been enjoying drinks just before the invasion. He’s last seen walking away from the home, stepping over the corpses of his loved ones with a scary look on his face.

‘Better Call Saul’ Season 6 will pick up from there

As far as Nacho knows, Lalo is dead. (Remember, Lalo had one of the shooters call in and report that the job was successful.) But a new teaser image for the sixth season of Better Call Saul suggests that Nacho might eventually find out the truth. Shared to the show’s Twitter page, the photo finds Nacho alone, seemingly in deep thought about something. The caption reads, “Why so nervous, Nacho?”

In a past interview with Entertainment Weekly, actor Tony Dalton (Lalo Salamanca) admitted Nacho should be “really” afraid of what Lalo might do next. “I think he’s dead! He should be really scared,” he said. But overall, Dalton wasn’t sure of the exact storyline.

“I don’t know what these guys are going to come up with,” he explained, “but I will tell you one thing, which is one of the great things about this show and the writers is that you don’t know what’s going to happen. A lot of these shows, you’re like, ‘Oh, I know. This guy is going to die,’ or something like that. Here, they really throw curveballs at you. So I have no idea what to expect, but I know it will be great.”

Fans will find out for themselves when the show returns in 2022. Stay tuned (and send best wishes for Nacho).
