In her own words, Beyoncé “got them dollars and them decimals.” A world-famous entertainer with a reported $500 million net worth, she lives a lavish lifestyle that many people can only dream of.

Oftentimes, she uses her riches to spoil those around her with extravagant things — from luxury cars to designer items. Most recently, she surprised some of her girlfriends with diamond necklaces to mark the disaster that was 2020.

2020 has been a wild year for lots of people, including Beyoncé

So much happened in 2020 — from the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to racial and social justice movements.

Beyoncé herself admitted to British Vogue for a December cover story that 2020 was a “crazy” year even for her. “It would be difficult to experience life in a pandemic and the current social unrest and not be changed,” she said.

Beyoncé also spoke about the stress of her work life, including the toll of doing “back to back” creative projects such as her “On the Run II Tour” in 2018 and her 2019 visual album Black Is King.

“It’s been heavy and hectic,” she continued. But moving forward, she said, her “new goal is to slow down and shed stressful things from [her] life.”

Beyoncé gave some of her friends a gift to mark the dumpster fire that was 2020

Beyoncé’s cousin Angela Beyince, who is also known for her work on songs such as “Naughty Girl” and appearances in TV shows such as BET’s Sistas, revealed on Dec. 28 via Instagram that Beyoncé had sent “all of her girls” a custom necklace. It’s a diamond-encrusted chain that spells “2020” and is shaped like a hand giving the middle finger.

“@beyonce gifted all of her girls with this amazing custom 2020 necklace. ‘🖕2020 ‘ It’s a hand with middle finger and the year 2020 combined into one,” Beyince explained underneath a photo of the necklace.

She went on to share her reaction to the gift before offering some personal thoughts on 2020. “When I opened it my eyes teared up because it is both Hilarious & Deeply Sentimental,” she continued. “2020 has had ups and downs but over all its been a really weird and tuff year. Hopefully 2021 is good to the world 🌎 🙏 #nye #beyonce.”

Later, Beyincé’s aunt and Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, also noted on Instagram that she’d received one of the chains, sharing a photo with it hanging around her neck.

How Beyoncé closed out 2020

Beyoncé told British Vogue that she planned on relaxing, presumably at home, with her family, which includes Jay-Z and their kids: 8-year-old Blue Ivy and 3-year-old twins Sir and Rumi. She said they would also be doing traditional activities like making cookies and listening to holiday music, among other things. “It makes me feel like a kid,” she added.
