At this point, we all understand that there is nothing Beyoncé can’t do. The Houston-born songstress got her big break in the girl’s group Destiny’s Child. However, when she went solo in 2001, she soared to even higher heights. Since then, she has delivered stunning hit after hit, found her own voice, and taken complete control of her career and her artistry.

Though she’s known for her stunning vocals, outstanding dance moves. and iconic performances — Beyoncé won’t be placed in a box. When she launched her fashion label — IVY PARK we knew that we were getting something very personal to the songstress.

Now, ahead of the IVY PARK x  Adidas collection launch, Queen Bey is reminding us all why she’s reached icon status.

Beyoncé is in complete control of IVY PARK

When she originally launched IVY PARK in 2016 –Beyoncé launched the brand as a co-founder with TOPSHOP. The line did well both online and in stores — but the songstress had to share the glory with the London-based retailer. That all changed in November 2018.

When TOPSHOP founder Sir Philip Green was accused of sexual harassment and racial abuse –Beyoncé decided to reclaim her time and her company. Last year, her company — Parkwood Entertainment confirmed that the queen was in total control of the company after acquiring it from Green and TOPSHOP.

By taking back total control of her company, the “Drunk in Love” songstress became the only Black woman to exercise 100 percent ownership of an athleisure brand.

Inside the IVY PARK x Adidas Collaboration

On April 4, 2019 — Beyoncé announced her IVY PARK collaboration with Adidas. “This is the partnership of a lifetime for me …” she gushed in a statement. “Adidas has had tremendous success in pushing creative boundaries. We share a philosophy that puts creativity, growth and social responsibility at the forefront of business. I look forward to re-launching and expanding Ivy Park on a truly global scale with a proven, dynamic leader.”

Now, we’re finally getting a sneak peek at the collection that will officially launch on January 18, 2020. The collection will include — shoes, athleisure wear and lifestyle apparel. “I think it’s important to have great basics that you can wear again and again,” Beyoncé told Elle Magazine. “Versatility is a big part of the IVY PARK line and what inspires me. You can create your own style by experimenting and taking chances and continually reinventing your look with all of these pieces. It incorporates my personal style and expands that to include something for everyone.”

The real meaning behind IVY PARK

The name IVY comes from, the Lemonade singer’s eldest daughter, middle name — Blue Ivy. However, PARK stands for Parkwood Park in Houston where Beyoncé used to go to exercise and find personal strength.

“The name of the brand comes from where I built my strength and endurance as a young woman,” she explained to Elle. “I ran and trained in the park, and that state of mind has stayed with me all these years later. It’s the first place where I learned to listen to my body. Many of us grew up seeing our parents act as if they were superheroes. Most women have been conditioned to ignore symptoms and just “tough it out” and focus on taking care of everyone else before themselves. I am no longer one of those people. After having a difficult pregnancy, I took a year to focus on my health. I have researched information on homeopathic medicines. I don’t just put any prescription in my body. My diet is important, and I use tools like acupuncture, meditation, visualization, and breathing exercises.”

We’re so excited to see the IVY PARK x Adidas collection come together.
