Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt included a few viral moments, Tituss Burgess’ Lemonade parody among them. As an actual fan of Beyoncé, this actor shared his thoughts on the Queen Bey potentially viewing his rendition of songs like “Sorry” and “All Night.”

‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ features Tituss Burgess and songs like ‘Peeno Noir’

Titus moved to New York because of his love for singing and The Lion King. Since appearing in this series, this character has had a few musical moments.

In season 1, that included his homemade music video for “Peeno Noir” and the accidental viral moment “I’m Gonna Be Famous.”

Even though Titus wanted to stay home with his boyfriend, Mikey, the singer left New York City to pursue a job singing on a cruise ship. When Titus comes back, however, he’s inspired to do his own version of Beyoncé’s groundbreaking album, Lemonade.

Titus’ time on the cruise didn’t go as planned. When he raised home to surprise Mikey, though, he found him hanging out with another man. Complete with his “baseball stick” and his best afro-centric bedspreads, Titus expressed himself just as Beyoncé did in an episode titled “Kimmy’s Roommate Lemonades!”

Instead of Becky with the good hair, though, Titus learned that Mikey was “cheating” on him with someone named Jeff. (What kind of a name is “Jeff!”) As a result, he did his own version of songs like “Sorry,” “All Night,” and “Hold Up.”

“We asked ourselves how Titus would deal with this kind of thing,” co-creator Robert Carlock said during an interview with Business Insider. “He would have to express it with the fabulousness of Beyoncé.”

“So in the same way that visual album told a story, we wanted to use it as a framework to tell Titus’ similar journey,” he continued. “So, to us, that was his story in the episode and it wasn’t going to be just a little copy of Lemonade.”

Has Beyoncé seen ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt?’

It’s unclear if the Lemonade artist has ever seen this visual album-themed episode of the Netflix original series. Because this episode debuted around the time Beyoncé announced her pregnancy with Rumi and Sir Carter, some fans think it’s unlikely. That includes the actor behind Titus Andromedon.

“I should be so lucky. I am obsessed with her, like the rest of the world,” Burgess said during an interview with E! News. “I know Tina Fey is a huge Beyoncé fan. But no, I don’t, I don’t [expect to hear from her]. I just hope that she watches the episode, but look she’s about to pop out twins though, so I’m not sure that Titus’s homage to her is on her radar right now.”
